I have cystic acne scarring pretty old from my teens all over my back and its embarassing. I was wondering if I should just get tattoos to cover it, but would they stilll be noticable and can you tattoo over scarring? The laser treatments and etc my dermatologist said were very painful and could make the scar look worse, in my case. Any suggestions?

My boyfriend is scared to death of needles, he's not scared of the pain, its unexplainable, there is just something about needles that he is afraid of, he cant even listen to somebody talk about shots or piercings, let alone see them, the major problem is that he really wants to get over this fear so that he can get a tattoo, anyone have any suggestions or know of any good reading that will help?

I started getting a tattoo on my ribcage, and after 2 and half hours, it was only halfway done because I kept moving. This is my second tattoo, and I just couldn't sit still through the pain.

My artist recommended I take pain killers, but I'm straight-edge and I'm against that idea. I heard the creams are iffy and I'd rather not do that either. Any suggestions?

I heard listening to music helps to distract, but I just can't seem to keep my body still enough to get it done.

Ok so I'm getting my first tattoo in a month and it's going to be on my foot. Now I know everyone keeps saying that you should get your first one somewhere else but there isn't any other place that I want to get one right now.
My questions though, I've heard that it hurts less on your left foot then it does on your right, is this true? My other question is I'm getting in on the side of my foot verses on top of it, will this help relieve some of the pain?

Any advise anyone can give would be fantastic!

I'm thinking of getting a tattoo. I want a small one about the size of a quarter. I'm going to the beach in July. Will it be healed by then if I got it by May 1st? Healed enough to lay on the beach and go in the ocean?

I just found out my good friend died, and I had been planning on getting a tattoo soon but I had another idea in mind. Now I want to change the style to get one in memory of her, but I don't know where to put it. I was thinking the ankle, back of the shoulder, or the back of my neck. A place where I can hide it other than my back and waist. Where do you think I should put it.

Everyone always talks about what are you going to look like when you get 80 with all those tattoos. I am more worried about will I have money to buy medicine....I have seen old people walk out of the pharmacy without their pills because they can not afford them, will my spouse die before me and I will have to live alone, will my hips hold up or will I need surgery or a walker, will my hearing go, will I be able to drive to get my groceries, what shape will this world be in then. Really is having some tattoos on your body at 80 even something that should cross the minds of the people who always ask this stupid question?

im a guy, i have a relatively high pain threshold i can pretty much handle all types of pain accept for burns. burns are unbearable for me.

what i am expecting pain wise from a tattoo is basicaly like getting a shot accept over and over at a vibrating speed, im also expecting that feeling in combination with numbness. am i right?

Ok, I got my first tattoo yesturday. I got a western style bull skull because I'm into country music and all that....well anyway, I was surprised about how much it didn't hurt at all and I actually love the feelin'! I'm 17 and I'm already wantin' a 2nd tattoo, you think I should stop at just this one before I end up covered? People are right, you get the first one and your addicted, but I don't want to be covered.

So I finally got the tattoo done, looks so beautiful!! But now I'm wondering about after care, in terms of showering and bathing. Can I put soap over it in the shower, what about water temperature, what about face cloths to clean the area? I have been getting different advice all over the place, so I thought I'd clarify it all with people who ACTUALLY HAVE TATTOOS!

I have two solid black chinese symbol tattoos, one above and one below my bellybutton, and (post-pregnancy) they look terrible! They are stretched out and have stretch marks running through them.

Is my best course of action to have the original tattoos touched up? Or would getting cover-ups look better?
