Well I'd assume it will be faded and your skin will be all wrinkled,so it will look shriveled, and you'll have to streach your skin to see what it even is, lol...
That didn't stop me, I have 5, LOL :-)

No, it doesn't. Though, it will fade over time and possible change a little in size depending on where it is on your body. But it's nothing a quick touch-up won't fix later on in life. It's nothing to worry about. Tattoo artists should be willing to do a touch up for free or half the price if you go back to the same place you got it done. No tattoo can look 100% gorgeous for your ENTIRE life (in terms of the definition of the lines, colour, etc.)
One last point I forgot to mention: When your're really old, I doubt you'd be walking around half naked, .i.e in a bikini. "Old people" tend to wear clothes that cover up most of their body, because there body, for sure, ain't what it used to be. So the chances that your tattoo is going to be very visible is minimal. Unless you got a sleeve or something else. Also remember... if you get a tattoo on your spine, wrists, ankle, etc... even if you gain weight, it won't be as visible on those areas as say, your stomach, arms or legs... unless you become obese.

I've always felt that, to a large extent, people who say that you shouldn't get a tattoo because it'll look 'gross' when you're old and wrinkly feel like that about the idea of getting old and wrinkly anyway. They don't see ageing as a natural part of life, they see it as something disgusting. I think it's that they're talking about, mainly, and the idea of tattoos just acts as a focal point for all their negative ideas about getting older. But at the end of the day, it's going to happen, regardless of whether someone has a tattoo or not. People without tattoos aren't going to be magically wrinkle-free and eternally young, however much they might like to be.
Hope this makes sense!

Not if you take care of it.
Really, a lot depends on the first 3 months. As long as you apply the cream they give you, don't get too much son and STAY OUT OF THE WATER, the tattoo will last much longer.
Most tattoos need some form of modification every 8 years or so. This is because your skin spreads as you age, and replaces itself constantly... making the tattoo fade. It begins to look gloomy and fuzzy.
Most old people say that because they know someone who got some stupid tattoo. DON'T get a stupid tattoo, get a good one and take care of it.

I actually dont think it will look that bad though. I dont have one, and im not old either lol but I think people willl say it'll look bad, when the skin wrinkles the tattoo will be wrinkled.. But i think older people at that stage with tattoos have alot more to worry about at that age than a silly wrinkly tattoo.
If your thinking of getting one just do it, if thats what you want. Its your body. You'll be the one dealing with it, you shouldnt care what anyone else thinks.

If the people making the negative comments were *really* concerned over how they'll look when they get older, they'd stop smoking, exercise more (1x/day, ~20-30 minutes does wonders at any age), eat better, stop drinking to excess, get enough sleep, etc etc etc. Either they need to eat their own dogfood or pipe down and let people enjoy life.
Aging is a natural process, but if you redline & abuse your body your whole life, you'll burn it out fast just like you'd do a car. As it is, I see those folks as just plain afraid of life, so much so they can't even stand to live now while young.

most of that depends on how well you take care of your body and your tattoo after you get it. sun exposure takes a huge toll on your tattoo. it causes them to fade drastically. to avoid sun damage you must keep your tattoos OUT of the sun. not just wear sunscreen.
also how well you take care of your body in general has an effect. if you are one of those "life fast, die young" types that go and go and don't really take time to take care of yourself, the body tends to age faster and with that the tattoo.
there are plenty of people who have had tattoos for many many years and they still look great. and there are other people who have had tattoos for only a few years that look like total crap.
of course when you get to be 70 years old and have wrinkles... your tattoos will be wrinkled right along with your skin but you'd be wrinkled anyway.

Tattoos fade after a while. I don't know how many years it takes, but they will eventually fade. Completely? I don't think so.
I am a Christian, so I don't believe anyone should mark up their body. But you can do what you want, it's your body.
If you do get a tattoo, make sure you ask lots of questions before you let anybody touch you with anything resembling a tattoo pen.
Also make sure it is something you are willing to live with for the rest of your life. Even if you decide to have it removed at a later date, it will always be there and there is always a chance that it could get infected.
Consider the toxic value of the ink they will be using also. I would never get a tattoo, no matter what the reason. Is it really worth it? I don't think so.

yes it may fade yes it will sag right along with your skin but when you are 80 are you really going to be flashing that much skin... no! If you are you are not going to care about what some shmuck is going to say about your saggy tattoo. Also when you are old and senile those tattoos will be a reminder if you life adventures and all the experiences that make you into the person that you are when you are. i think its well worth it.

Its all up to you who cares what people think. when you get older your body changes and the tattoo ink fades and all that kinds of things. skin will also change at time wrinkle or stretch depending on where you are putting your tattoo.
