Which is hotter? A tattoo on a girl's lower back, or a full backpiece? Which style would look hotter as well: feminine designs, or a more aggressive/"bad ***" design?

I think the tatooing of America (and the world, for that mattter) is gross, stupid, and a snare of the Devil-evidently, the vast majority of the people in the U.S. have never read the Bible, or decided to rebel (by breaking the prohibition against marking one's skin) against what they did read. I especially find it awful that woman have fallen into the deception of getting themselves marked up like that. There will be a huge outbreak of hepatitis, rashes, and other skin/blood disorders due to this happening, mark my words on that-it's already well along, and will get worse as more marks of Cain get carved!

I see I have to place this under "beauty and style"-HA!, what a JOKE!

I find tattoos and piercings very attractive. Not when people go crazy with every possible facial piercing, or dick piercings and clit piercings, but a simple, classy amount. I think guys look great with the side of their lip pierced and an eyebrow ring, and girls look great with lip rings, monroes, and nose rings. As for tattoos, I absolutely love sleeves and back pieces, etc. I myself have a decent size tattoo and plan on getting many more.

As I'm sure you know, many jobs will not hire people with facial piercings or visible tattoos because it's said to "offend" people. I think as long as people don't go incredibly overboard, they should be allowed to have visible facial piercings and tattoos, no matter what the job. It's an individuality thing, who's to say whether it's wrong or right? I get a kick out of people that say it's self mutilation and unnatural, yet they have their hair dyed and a fake tan. (no offense, I also have both of those.) Honestly, what's your opinion?

I'm designing my own japanese tattoo, and I have some of the symbols I want such as a shishi for loyalty, crane for family, and water for energy. Is there a site for other symbols like honor? Also does anyone know the significance of the placement of japanese tattoos on the body such as good on the right bad on the left.

A question for those inked: how much of your work is something you more directly control, and how much do you just let the artist go on?

I ask as I've heard two schools of thought. One is that some people have a precise idea of what they want, and don't want to vary at all. Another, seemingly more common, is to give the artist an idea of what you're looking for and trusting their artistic vision. The former is still with some commentary from the artist, while the latter is with the okay of the inked (that is, no surprises).

There is no real "right" answer to a question like this; I'm mostly just curious.

My own answer in a followup.

I've had my nose pierced for 2 years. I took it out for 2 days and now it's half closed. Is it really bad to take a needle and force it open again? Will it create gnarly scar tissue?

I recently got a new piece I've been wanting for awhile, in a place I've been wanting, but strangely I didn't feel it was a part of me immediately like I did with my other three tattoos. I don't want to get rid of it, i just want to grow to really love it. Has anyone else felt this way?
