Get something that reminds you of him every time you see it. It may not make sense to everyone, but it will to you. I wouldn't take peoples suggestions it's your tattoo that represents your child only you would know what that is. Good Luck, you won't regret it. I love mine that represents my kids.

I talked to my son in law who is a tattoo artist. He has a portrait of my daughter near his heart that looks amazing. He has a few pictures of his work on my space. His name is pain. He does amazing work, maybe you could look at different web sites for tattos and get an idea. By the way, I think thats a wonderful idea you and your wife have. I have each of my childrens names in a heart and I am going to have my grandkids names tattooed on me also. I havent decided how yet, my son in law is working up some scetches for me. Your son is blessed to have such devoted parents. Good luck to you.

i waited awhile for something that reminded me of my daughter. She was given a rubber duck in a jack o lantern suit when she was 5 months and she LOVED it. so we started getting her more rubber ducks and she loves all of them. So I have on my left upper chest a daddy rubber duck (with a heart tattoo on his wing) swimming and being followed by a smaller girl duck complete with pink bow. I have received many compliments on it. i guess what i am saying is wait a bit and see if there is anything about your son that makes you think of him. a favorite toy, activity, or item. then take that basic idea to a tattoo artist that you like and let the artist run with the design and you will be much happier with the results.

My suggestion is to wait until the he can actually hold the tattoo gun himself, and have him draw a heart (or some such thing) himself. I saw an article on this recently, where a tattoo artist allowed his young daughter (I think she was around 6, if I remember correctly), to tattoo a heart on his thigh (above his knee). The heart looked just like a heart a small child would draw... completely imperfect and one of a kind. It was so adorable and unique, and obviously very special to him.
My other suggestion would be to wait until he's old enough to draw something on a piece of paper, and then have a tattoo artist tattoo that exact image for you.

Tommy Lee(Pamelas ex) has both of his sons names tattooed on his wrists, but he got them to write their names on a piece of paper and had the tattoo artist copy that, it looks funky and is real personal. But your son might be a bit small for that, do an ink pressing on a piece of paper of your sons hand and get the artist to do that, so your son always has his hand on your heart. I wish i had of thought of that when i got my kids tattoos done, but 3 hand prints wouldnt have fit.

Try www.tattoofinder.com
They have a variety of tatoos that you can view.
Shop around, then decide what reminds you the most of your son's personality.

I absolutely love when fathers get their children's footprints tattooed on them. I think it's too cute for words.
