So how often do i wash it, and how often i use lotion?
With the lotion do i "rub" it all in, or kinda brush it across and let it soak in by itself..?

You should lightly wash your new tattoo twice a day. You said you got tattoo goo? Is it the lotion or the paste? I like the paste tattoo goo, with that there doesn't seem to be much else you need. Dial anti bacterial soap in liquid is just fine. Apply the tattoo goo 4 or more times a day just enough to get the tattoo moist. If it is shinny, you've put too much on and you need to blot it off with a paper towel (nothing that will leave lint). Try not to wear your shoe all through the healing process. The more air it gets the better. Air is your #1 healer. If you have any more questions contact me through my profile. I'll be happy to help any way I can.

I have tattoos, I was told in the beginning to use baby cream a zinc based one. When you get home after having the tatt done you give it a good wash in very warm soapy water and pat it dry and apply the baby lotion then cover it up. Bathe it twice daily and apply the cream as often as you need to of a day. As it is a foot tattoo wear a sock over it at night so you don't end up rubbing it on your sheets. Expect some ink to come off onto the sock, this is excess ink so don't panic. After the first day don't cover it up. Over two weeks it will crust up, don't pick it. It will probably shed some scab as you apply the cream. Don't get it sunburnt.

why didn't you ask your tattoo artist this? i wash mine 3 or 4 times a day with antibacterial soap, pat dry and then use aveeno baby lotion on it. as it heals, i tone down on the soap and lotion.
as for applying lotion. i just glob it on the tat. then kind of pat it down, so i'm not rubbing all over the scab. let it soak it then.

and i hope your artist told you foot tattoo (top of foot) are horrible ideas. most artist won't even do them. they take forever to heal and more times than not, they don't heal properly. keeping socks and shoes on causes moisturre build up, they don't scab properly. they flake and fade and blur in no time.

since the tattoo is on your foot you will need to wash it a little more often than you would another tattoo. i think i washed mine about 5 times a day or whenever i noticed "fuzz" and stuff sticking to my lotion.
pat it dry.
don't "rub in" the lotion but also you don't want excess lotion on it. pat off any extra with a paper towel. keep it elevated as much as possible for the first few days to avoid excess swelling and don't wear shoes or socks for two weeks.

despite what people are saying you should not wash it. repeat do not wash it. also do not use anti bacterial soap, the reason behind this is that your tattoo is a wound you want it to heal over if you use anti bacterial soap it will hinder this action. also all lotions are not created equally if you want an easy one to come by use a unsented curel lotion. I personaly use "INK FIXX" lotion. its all natural and designed by tattoo artists FOR tattoos their website is www.inkfixx.com. but when you apply the lotion make sure you dont press too hard and you do not want the product that your using to become a cakey layer. youll know what i mean if you do. if this happens wet a paper towel and lightly run it over your tat so as to wetten the product. then you care either use your finger to rub it off or rub it in. hope this has been helpful.

my advice would be to wash it as you would normally and apply the lotion everyday, maybe twice a day, to prevent it from drying out, do not pick it otherwise you will lose the colour in it, let it heel naturally. also try to air it as much as possible until heeled.

I think you should see your local medical practitioner. Why in the hell do so many people wish to put themselves into pain and misery.

The tattoo may look funky now but wait and see what it will look like in 50 years. Yep! I have seen a lot of tattoos in my time and I can assure you of that they always shrink with age.
