I'm 15 and my mom said that I could get my belly button pierced for my 16th birthday. I live in Washington and was wondering if anyone knew what age I can get it done here or if I have to go somewhere else. Aslo, if I can get it done in WA then where is a good place?

You can have it done at 16 but your mom has to go with you and be there when it's done. I got my first piercing at 13, five years ago. I live in Washington, just to clear it up. The age that piercings like nose, ears, lip, eyebrow, belly button are done is about 13 or 14 depending on the shop. You have to be 18 to get your tongue or any sexually based piercing and 18 to get a tattoo. No, Washington does NOT allow parents to sign a release form for tattoos. Any shop that does is comitting a miscomeaner and under the law could lose the rights to have a business.
The shop depends on your area. Call around to local shops, look in the yellow pages. Ask about price, age requirements, ID requirements for a minor, anything you can think of besides how much it hurts ... they can't answer that, it's your body and only you can judge it once it's done. If you are getting the same information from multiple shops then it's accurate. At this step visit some of them, check out the cleanliness, watch in on a piercing if they will let you, look at the jewelry selection, and most importantly talk to the piercer(s) while you are there. Don't trust the cheapest. Most general piercing prices are $25 to $40 for the min. that shops charge. Anything less than $25 doesn't sound safe to me. With any piercing, go to a piercing parlor ... not a shop in a mall like Claires. Needles should always be used, the guns are unsanitary, dangerous and hurt twice as much. The healing time is about twice as long with the gun as well. Shops are people that have been trained to do this, not given the job and said you can use the piercing gun. Piercing guns push the skin and cartilage depending on the area, aside. This can cause infections and prevent healing from happening at all. A sharp point of a hollow needle, which a piercer uses, clears it out during the piercing. Less trauma and less pain over all. It takes about three seconds with a needle. A sharp point is a must with a piercing, dull points are nasty!

I live in Wa also. I got my belly button done when I was 18. They do make you show photo Id to prove age. So if you are under age you do have to have a parent sign for you.
I went to Metro In the capitol mall they did a awesome job mine never got infected and still looks great to this day

i'm 15 and just got mine done in january.... I'm pretty sure that they'll let you get it done as long as you have parental consent.

Don't do that to your body you are to young for that. wait till you 17 are 18
