It feels like needles and pins and scraping and rawlike pain..its awful..and afterwards it is raw and very apinful for a few weeks it all depends on how long your body takes to heal..You also run the risk of getting Hepatitus which you will never quit feeling the pain over that..Im serious.I know someone who lives with it daily form a tatoo..its awful..poor girll..but she had to ahve a tatoo..thats one unhappy camper.Tink twice before you dice and slice..eww gross..it looks trashy too..we think.

It is like gettin a sewing needle and just scratching it against your skin.
The outline hurts more as the needle goes in deeper. by the time you get to the shading you are pretty much numb anyway. I didn't find that it hurt, it was more of an irritating sensation, felt like i wanted to scratch lol, bit like when u get an ant bite, but without the stinging afterwards.
I found the most painful part was during the healing process. When it started scabbin over, it cracked everytime i sat down! So you have to keep it well moisterised, and make sure you use the cream which the tat artist recomends, follow their aftercare instructions carefully.
Generally the bonier the part of the body, or the less fatty, the more it will hurt. However, mine was on the bottom of my spine and it was ok, although i could feel my bones vibrating all the way up my spine lol, strange sensation, but not bad - it made me giggle!
You only feel it once the needles in, the second they take it out you cant feel anything until it goes back in again.
Think carefully about where you want it, and think carefully about what you want. For your first tat you should go for something relatively small, and less intricate, so that there is not much outline, and it is over quicker. If you do find it painful, you will only suffer for a short amount of time. then if you don't the next time you could have something bigger or more intricate.
Also think very carefully about where you go. talk to ppl who have already had tats, and talk about where they had them. Choose somewhere very reputable, and go have a look before you decide. Look for certificates on the walls and ask to have a look where they do the tattoos. Make sure you can see them using sterilised needles.
Unfortanately i went to some back street tattooist, who didnt sterilise the needles properly and i got impetigo. I had blisters underneath the tat while it was healing, which broke the scab and left little white circles on my tat which i had to have refilled.
Still i dont regret it one bit! its my own design so i have my very own artwork with me at all times!

The only tattoo I ever got was on the top of my foot. It hurt really bad, because there isn't alot of fat there and it is closer to the bone. Everyone is pretty much right here when they say that it hurts more depending on where you get it. I have had people who told me it didn't hurt them at all, and I have had other people tell me it made them cry. I was about three quarters of the way to tears when I got my tattoo done. But the thing that made me truly cry was the walk back home. I hadn't thought about the fact that I would have to walk a half mile uphill to get home only hours after getting my tattoo. I had to stop 3 times because my foot hurt so bad. Just be sure if you do decide to get a tattoo, plan ahead. You don't want to get it right before you have to do something physical with that part of the body, because it will hurt.

everybody is different but here is what i think:
tattoos feel like a cat scratch. in my opinion cat scratches aren't very comfortable and i avoid them as much as possible. it is a sharp stinging pain and the stinging lasts after the tattoo is finished. some people say the endorpines kick in after a few minutes but i think my endorphines may be faulty or something because my pain never seems to be nummed.
how long the pain lasts also changes from person to person. mine usually are tender to the touch for about three days, i can never let my husband help me wash the one on my back because he scrubs too hard. some of my tattoos have been sore to the touch for 10 days but not so bad that it is distracting, just if you bump it or something, you'll remember that you have an open wound on your body.
having said that i LOVE my tattoos and the pain is obviously not bad enough to deter me from getting more, in fact i am going to get my tattoo worked on tomorrow!

Overall, it feels like you're getting burned.
The burning sensation wore off after an hour or so with most of mine; after that it was just "there." I think the one I got on my foot is the only one that still "hurt" the next day, but it wasn't so much a painful-hurt; just a little more noticeable to where I favored it and walked with a little limp. More of an annoyance than an "owie."
The bottom line: if you really want a tattoo, it won't matter how it feels.

I simply acquired a tattoo on my again final night time. It's within the center of my again proper round my backbone. It is going from my neck all the way down to my bra line so it is a beautiful large tattoo! The first define of the tattoo harm like hell, specifically while he used to be close my backbone. By the time he obtained round to the moment define my epidermis had already numbed up so I dealt with that very good. I initially desired getting a tat on my arm and now I desire I might have after the anguish I skilled final night time lol. If you do come to a decision to get a tat in your again, be certain it's not a large one on account that that is plenty of anguish that you simply have got to absorb for a protracted interval of time!

Depends on where you get it. I got one on my back---
Have you ever been scratched by a cat? Its kinda like that, you know it catches you by surprise and hurts the most at that second. The thing that makes it different though of course is that its in the same area for a long time. You kind of get over it but it catches you offguard sometimes and thats when it will hurt for a second. Really its not that bad when you are getting it done.
Afterwards though if something touches it, its kind of sitting on a cactus---the day after I accidentally hit my schoolbag on my back lightly and I jumped 3 feet. So dont aggrivate it. Its really not as bad as it sounds though.

Where Tattoos hurt is the wallet. They have proven that if your tattoos show you will never make top dollar compared to some one who mirrors you with education and skills.

Its kind of an annoying stinging sensation. Like a continuous bee sting, or a slow cat scratching your skin.
It also depends on your pain tolerance, and where on your body you get the tattoo. Bony areas like the ribcage, and thin skinned areas like the soles of the feet hurt more than areas with more muscle.

It really hurts when I got mine it felt like my skin was being carved with a knife. But it also depends on your body's tolerance to pain. I have no tolerance for pain so it really hurt. Hope this helps
