You've probably unscrewed to too many times and wore it down so that it can't secure. You'd better take it out or replace it fast or you'll break a tooth if it comes off when you're eating a sandwich.

The thread on the barbell probably doesn't match up with the thread inside the ball. You just need to go get a new one and don't buy them too cheap, or you'll end up with the same problem.

Because of the size of your tongue in general, you may not be able to wear such short bar bells, and it is hard to find longer ones. I had a hard time with the shorter ones too, and actually swallowed a couple balls, but the longer bars can be just as cute and you can still change the balls. Good Luck!

You need to tighten them well. It's a good idea to check every day or two to make sure they are on nice and tight (I usually check in the morning when I brush my teeth and get ready for the day)
If it's just one barbell and you have made sure it's on tight, you may have stripped the threading, in which case you need to buy a new piece of jewelry.

You've probably stripped the balls.
I've done it before.
Change it and leave it.
I've had the same tongue ring in for almost 2 years now.
Because there's no reason to change it.
Don't screw and un screw, because you'll likely strip the other balls as well.

Mine did that when I had a metal ball and bar, I switched to a lucite ball and it stopped. Not sure if it was because something was wrong with the first one or because the metal ball does not tighten down as much as the lucite...

It sounds like that particular piece of jewelry. You might want to get another one and try it. The threads on the screw might be stripped.

i would guess that the ball or bar isn't properly threaded and don't fit together well. maybe go to a piercing place and buy a new one.
