Kaeden is 3 and gets so frusterated at his new stuttering that he cries. His tubes have been clogged or something before so he had to have them cleaned out or pushed back down (I'm not sure on the details but I know he had problems with them once.) Anyway, he yells when he talks, stutters, and says "huh?" or "what". He confuses words to (we say "stop that" and he thinks we said "step back" or something similar.) Could his stuttering be because of his tubes?

All my two year old wants to do is watch Sesame Street and Backyardigans lately. We TiVo every episode, so she knows that she can watch it whenever. I try to tell her that the characters are sleeping, then she throws a fuss and usually tosses a toy or a book at me. What can I do to end this behavior and get her interested in her toys or books again?

We started puting shoes and socks on our son during the day and was wondering if anyone else is doing this? We have hard floors throughout the house so it keeps his feet protected and also makes leaving the house so much faster.

My 4 yr old son turns 5 at the end of this month. I asked him what he wanted for his birthday several times, and he always says he wants a stroller and a vacuum cleaner (the toy kind). I know this is because his friend next door (who is a girl) has these things, and he loves playing with them with her. I don't think this is a big deal. My son's father is freaking out though. We are divorced and and he rarely sees his son, but when he called I jokingly mentioned what he was getting for his birthday and he just lost his mind over it. I see nothing wrong with getting him these toys. He has a house full of cars and other boy stuff he loves to play with, and I see no problem with him getting girly type stuff if he wants to play house so bad. Really, does it matter? Any other mothers out there have a boy who wanted girly type toys before, and did you get them for him?

Please, no mean answers. He's very boyish except for this one thing.

My daughter is 21 months old. She hardly eats. For breakfast I give her weet-bix, corn flakes or toast. If I give her cereal she'll only eat a few spoon fulls. If it's toast about 1/2 a piece. Lunch I try a sandwich. If she hasn't had one for a few days she'll eat it other wise take a bit and tell me "no more mummy" Other things I give her for luch are noddles and tin spaghetti. i know they aren't the best for her but just want her to eat. At dinner time she has what we have. Unless it's spicy. Otherwise she'll have scrambled eggs. She'll also have yogurt and a banana during the day some time. I try different things including fruit with her but she won't even try them. To me she isn't eating enough. At the moment she is in a rhino brace and will be for the next 6 months for a dislocated hip. Because she can't move I know she won't need much as she isn't burning the same amount of calaries as she use to, but she still needs to eat. She won't take milk or formula either. What can I do?

I have a one year old daughter who is constantly either saying mama or dada and trying to get our attention. When we are trying to have fun on the computer or just trying to watch tv while she is playing with toys she will automatically stop and try to bug us. I love her to death but it aggrevates me to death! She also gets into stuff that she knows she isnt suppose to to get attention and she cries alot at night. I dont know what to do about it so could someone please give me and my hubby advice?! Thanks.

I want to photograph my child myself this year for our Christmas cards. I was thinking of having her hold an ornament or play with lights. Maybe dressing her in her Santa pajamas too. Any ideas for something cute and kinda simple?

Neither of my girls is under or overweight- they're both very healthy little girls, but my 2 year old eats about twice what my 4 year old does every day. I have to fight my 4 year old to finish her dinner every night, and my 2 year old often goes back for seconds or even sometimes thirds! Is this normal?

I keep on telling him to go pee in his toilet, I even put his toilet where he usually hides to go pee or poo, I tried sitting with him on the big toilet too but he sits and runs off after a second. I also have told him that I will give him candy if he goes to pee in the toilet, but no it doesnt work, should I leave him wet after he pees on the carpet, maybe that way he will get tired of walking around wet and finally go to the toilet, any suggestions?

My daughter has to get a shot today and she is running around the house screeming and crying. I have to go in 20 minutes and she threatens to lock herself in the bathroom if we go. I tried to talk to her and tell her all that stuff but she could care less. I went on like 50 websites and nothing worked. Yesterday she was up ALL night crying and scared. Its impossible to get her to the car. This shot NEEDS to be done because she has a possabilty for a disease and we need to find out if she has it. I told her its just a shot, look away, everyone gets shots, think of something nice, it doesn't hurt, would you rather have this pain ful disease, blah blah blah. She doesn't care. WHAT SHOULD I DO. she is running around the house crying.

I previously asked a question about my son putting his hand up in the air and making a noise sometimes. Sometimes he will also put his fingers up in front of his face and make a little noise. It tends to be if he's tired, bored, etc. For 2 yrs we didn't know many people as we moved away from family and friends. He has always been extremely affectionate, makes good eye contact and is nice to other children. My only concerns have been this noise/hand movements he makes. However he also makes loud noises when he is playing with his animal toys. He is delayed in his speech a bit, but uses phrases, some sentences, counts, knows his animals, etc. I was wondering what causes him to make these movements and noises. Could it be because he has been bored with little socialization or could it be autism? I am working on getting him into a daycare part time. We have rarely used a sitter and he rarely sees our family. I am struggling inside. Does anyone have any insight? Thanks so much...
