Illegal in both states, plus you won't be "dating." Find someone your own age. In theory, you should be much more mature than him, as females at age 19 are generally two years more mature than males, and at age 16, it's 4-5 years of difference in maturity. So, you are 7 years ahead of him maturity-wise. That's a problem. Plus, long term relationships rarely work with actual adults, much less a girl who is barely an adult who is dating a child...find someone your own age to avoid any problems...

Oh dear - really think about this... there are so many people in the world. 16 year old boy? First of all, boys mature much later than girls (sometimes never) and you should be looking forward not backwards. I'm not saying you should be with an older guy, but you should be spending your time getting ready for college, a job, and your future, not looking back and focusing on high school prom, movies and pizza, and learning how to drive...

Who cares about the laws, a 19 year old should not be dating a 16 year old. It's not right, it's not cool. Find someone your age and experience being 19. Let him experience being a 16 year old. I know 3 years doesn't seem like a big difference, but it really is.

i am a woman that lives in NJ. I go to Philadelphia 2 times a week. I would never date someone that is a minor. If you really want to know go on the internet it should tell you the legal age in your state

There is nothing illegal about DATING someone younger than you. The only trouble that you would get into is if you two had sex. If you aren't sexually active, then there is no problem. If you ARE sexually active, its can be considered statutory rape.

I met my future husband when I was 15 and he was 19. We started dating when I turned 16 and.... years later.... we are happily married. (No sex until after marriage) I lived in Oklahoma and he lived in Kansas. If its meant to be, it will be. Age is only a number. I don't know what all these people are getting so worked up about.

Its really sad that people are so judgmental. If you were 29 and 26, this wouldn't be an issue. In fact, people would give you their blessings.

Don't do it until you're certain that you will both be out of the clear. Consenting ages can range from 14-18.

Face it the relationship is doomed due to distance anyway. Find a nice jersey guy your own age.

Sorry you are a grown-up. Dating him is illegal at this point. You could risk your freedom for life. Having to register as a sex offender is not fun for those who have to do it.
Try going to some adult events or finding something you like to do. Meet a man that is 18+ and keep your freedom.

Why do you want to mess around with a kid? 16 and 19 are worlds apart.
