My son will be 3 next month. He has hit his daycare teacher the past 3 days. I don't think it is suitable to spank for this behavior because I would be "hitting him for hitting someone else". I sent him to bed early with no TV or toys. What should I do if this doesn't work???

Hi everyone!
This year, my family decided to adopt another family in need for the holidays. Well, the family happens to have 18 month old twin boys. However, I'm a 15 year old girl and have no idea what 1-2 year old little boys like. The wish list they filled out said they liked Barney and Teletubbies. I can't really seem to find much of that stuff, though. Do you know what else they might like, such as cars, or dinosaurs? Also, what are some good stores to get these toys for reasonable prices?
Thanks for the help!

I have a 3 year old vegetarian daughter who loves to eat chips, chocolates, candies, cheese, all junk food except fruits and vegetables. Earlier I had energy. I used to sit and feed her but now I have another 3 months old daughter so getting tough on me. Please suggest some ways that she can eat healthy food on her own with interest. I have tried everything( not giving her junk food, she will not eat the whole day, remains hungry). So please suggest me ways that she can eat. some healthy, vegetarian and quick recipes will also help.

Thanks!

Have a 2 & 3 year old, who've discovered the toy catalogs that come in the paper. Also my 3 year old who loves instruments, would love a banjo, tuba, triangle, etc. Im not digging the whole "wait for Christmas" or "ask for it from Santa" line as I think its kind of greedy, and dont want to get them started off this young. Any advice on how you talk about presents, gift giving, etc.

We also have talked about the meaning of Christmas, Jesus's birthday, the less fortunate, etc.

*And I LOVED circling the toys in the Fleet Farm catalog when I was a kid, but remember my brother always being so pissed off when he didnt get everything he asked for, and think thats part of this.

So I took my 3 year old to Burger King and got him a kids meal. Well, to make a story short he started screaming because I wouldn't give him the toy until after he ate and he wanted it NOW. I took EVERYTHING and threw it away and grabbed him and had to carry him out screaming. I am so angry right now. What would you have done? I don't beleive in spanking but I sure wanted to wack him one (I didn't).

The room is 11x12"

What should a toddler boy's room look like that will "grow" with him for the next two years?

Should there be a big play table in his room or in the main family room? Should he have a little "sofa"? Or is that ridiculous. What do your kids have?

He really hasn't had to go to the doctor exept for routine check-ups since he was born, so I don't know. I have what I think is a cold, and this morning my baby started having this nasty cough like mine. Is it worth it to take him to the doctor, or will he just say "he has a cold, give him Tylenol"? What would you do? How do I know when I should take him? Thanks!!

My two year old has been crying alot lately. He talks but not really well. Can he be having headaches at this age? Or could something else be wrong with him. Help, I am very worried. Today my husband said he was grabbing his head and started to cry, then he started to hit it with the bed. What does this mean?

I am curious because since he turned 2 his speech development has slowed down tremendously, he pretty much knows mommy, dada, ball, and bye, and will continually repeat them. I have been doing some of my own research but it is hard for me to really know because of the fact that i am his mother. He has a younger brother who turned 1 in August and at first his doctor said that it was because of his brother that he wasnt talking, but the 1 year old says more than my 2 year old, i just dont understand. If anybody can help me it would be greatly appreciated!

My son just turned a year old and for the past 2 months, he's been doing this new 'thing' where he takes both of his hands and smacks them over his ears repeatedly (does this a few times a day or more). I had him checked for ear infections (not even earwax in there, let alone inflammation) and I take note of the noise levels (never too loud) and he never acts like he's in pain, but he does this so often and with such intensity, I'll admit I'm worried. Any ideas, or maybe is this a wierd kid thing?

I have a 3year old little girl who spent most of her time with me since she was born with my husband being in Iraq. He would often worry that she would not know him or even come to him. He is now home safely but the problem is that my daughter only wants to go with him and will only listen to him not me. I try to play games and be the fun mom that I use to be but nothing works keep in mind that he has been home for a year now and it's only getting worse. If I ask her to do something or don't do something she reply's my daddy said I can do it or I don't have to do it because my daddy won't mind. She knows how to go to him and get something when I say no she can't have it or and he doesn't know that I said no but he feels that she should be able to do whatever she wants. I am a parent who believe's in time out and coming down to her level but nothing is working anymore and it hurts to the point that I cry because I miss our bond. What do you think I could do.

Please help a lonely mom

My son is 2 1/2 and it is way past due for him to stop breastfeeding. He is not much of a food eater. He is very meticulous and is limited to the things he likes. He likes chicken, rice, noodles, yogurt, soybeans, noodles and corn. He eats other foods occasionally but that is his main items he likes.
How can I get him to stop breastfeeding and eat a different variety of foods. Have I mentioned that he is very stubborn and he loves to breastfeed? Help me.

My son is 18 months old and is still not saying words. He babbles constantly and is always trying to talk. I try to teach him more and do a little “speech therapy” like saying mamamama dadadada lalalala making sounds with he’s mouth but he just gets frustrated or loses interest in what I’m saying. I read to him a lot and teach him objects and everything. He appears to understand everything. All commands that I say to do or not to he understands very well. I don’t know if it’s me, that’s not trying hard enough or what?

I know people have their own views about modelling, however I want my son to be a catalodue/magazine model, I also know that every parent thinks their child gorgeous. I know that my son has what it takes to be a model and loves to pose for the camera. He will still be a child and have a normal childhood like any other. I just need some tips on how to go about finding a genuine agency. I'm not intersted in comments about what people think is right or wrong (sorry to sound rude but i've read some other comments which just don't help!). All money that my son earns will go into his own bank account to hopefully provide him with a good start later in life.

I know this women that has two children, ages 3 and 2. They are always dirty and stink. The oldest is showing signs of autism and the mother won't take the child to the doctor for testing. In fact neither child has ever even been to the doctor. The women is trying to get pregnant again and she doesn't seem to be taking care of the children she has. I know they are spanked hard when they do something bad, they are always yelled at. They are left in dark rooms alone for hours, and made to sit still in highchairs. The oldest doesn't talk, doesn't play with other children, and when is asked to bring a toy or something the child looks at you like she doesn't understand what is being said.. I know things in this home are bad, but is it bad enough to turn them in? Is turning them in right, or should I just wait longer and see if things change? I think this women maybe be out of control. She hit her mother when she was a teen, and was put in the hospital for drugs and cutting herself.

I have one year old twins, and I just worry that they are eating too much. They eat three meals a day. Breakfast @ 9 am, nap @ 11 - 12:30, Lunch @ 1 pm, nap @ 3 - 4:30, and Dinner @ 5 pm. I know a lot of people feed their kids three meals and a snack in between, but mine sleep right through the time for a snack. I want to make sure they get enough to eat, so i put a variety of different "finger" foods on their trays and let them go to town. My problem is, they dont stop eating, or at least i have never seen them turn down food. Even when i was feeding them jars of baby food (one stage three jar each), they didnt turn away from the spoon. My son would get upset when i would scrape the jar, because he knew it was empty. I dont give them too much to eat, but how much is enough?
Example meal : 2 Tbs of green beans, 2 Tbs of carrots. 3 Tbs of cheerios, 2 Tbs of cheese stuffed pasta, 3 Tbs of yogurt, and 4 oz milk. The veggies and grains vary every meal, is that enough?

Last night when I wasn't home, my 10 year old son and wife had a yelling argument. She got frustrated with him and grabbed him by the neck(like choking) with her hands and told him "never to talk to me like that again". I have had to get between them before when she went after him. Normally she is very loving with all of our kids, but gets frustrated easily and flies off the handle. There has never been physical harm to the degree that marks were left. My son told me he wasn't scared b/c she does it all the time to my daughter. Suggestions on how to deal with this?

I want to just call and order it but I dont want him to get made fun of by his cousins or upset my husband. what should I do?

So everytime we go into a store my son goes straight to the dolls and says he wants one. He is in preschool and Im not sure if this is a good idea or not. He saw the baby alive and says that he really wants it and since it is a boy doll I guess it's really not a big deal. But my mom keeps telling that if I get him the doll the family will give me a hard time because Im trying to make him a "girl" and that it could make him gay. I personally don't believe that. Anyway I just wanted to know how many moms or dads out there are letting their boys play with dolls and if the baby alive is a good doll to have thanks!

Well I dont know if he is MOM or DAD, but he goes around with a bear and dog and keeps referring to them as Babies. I am pregnant and due to have baby any day now. Is he reenacting ME or something? He even puts them in bed and tell me to be quiet because the ''babies sleep''.
