My son is 28 months old and has not went potty on the toilet yet. He will sit on the potty and tell us when he has to go but has not yet. He also goes crazy when I try to put a diaper, pull-up, or even big boy underpants on him. He just wants to run around naked. This is my first time so I really could use some help.

I have an almost 2 1/2 year old and am still learning about typical toddler behaviors. Is this one? My toddler loves to put things back where they belong. Like if I leave a towel on the floor, he has to pick it up. Or if a shampoo bottle on the counter isn't facing the right way, he has to fix it. He says "Organize" when he does some of these things. I'm just curious if this is something toddlers just do as one of their toddler things or if my son just really takes after his mother. :)

today that management went around giving it to my kids teachers for them to read. My letter went into detail of how unhappy I was with the care my kids were getting. Now I feel my kids will be treated different for the next 2 weeks. Did management have any right to doing such? Is this "legal" when the letter was only intended for them? Doing this could cause issues for any parent.

My nephews mother likes to "exaggerate" EVERYTHING. now she is saying that her son has MRSA. in her words " he only has it a little bit and is not contagus. they gave him a cream to put on it. came up on his back friday morning and went away friday night, then came back saturday morning on his face and moved to his stomach on saturday night. but he is fine and is still allowed to go to daycare." i'm confused because the she said the dr. did not do a culture or anything basically just looked at his red spot and said it was MRSA and gave him cream, no antibiotics just the cream. does this make since to anybody? they are supose to come over for thanks giving but i dont want my son to catch MRSA and she lies so much i dont know what to do or beleive.

What are the requirements of baby who should be allowed to eat the Gerber Dissolving fruit oat rings? My son is 8 months and has been eating solids since 5 months, is able to pick up things with thumb and index finger. I believe he is ready to start feeding himself but my worry is that I have never given him a food that had more than one ingreident. His food was always just straight veggie or fruit or rice cereal. Does he sound ready to be eating this gerber finger food rings made of oats? fruit flavored?

My son will be three next month. We live in a two story home and I have always had a baby gate on his room. I also had one at the top of the stairs as a precaution after we went to bed. So now, Mr. Inquisitive has found out how to get the baby gate down. I have no idea what to do now. Most would say for me to just leave it down. That's fine, but now he is after the top of the stairs baby gate. Which by the way if he gets that one down it will proceed to fall forward along with him. SO big danger there. I have also taken about 20 steps back with him due to his dad deploying and one night after I was super exausted with sick newborn, I let him sleep with me. BIG mistake. Now he wants to sleep with me every night. After an hour of fighting him for bed, he will go to sleep only to wake up again crying to sleep with me. Totally different issue which I am open to advice there. Anything work other than consistancy? Which I am very.

I babysat today for the first time and the little girl wasn't horrible but I also didn't want her to think whinning worked with me. I put her in time out (she's two so only for two min.) and then talked to her before letting her get back to normality. she cried the entire two min. and kept trying to leave. So I mainly kept her in there until she calmed down. I felt awful though. Is it normal for them to scream bloody murder? My sister's kids never acted like this and it freaked me out a little.

that I shouldn't use baby wipes when my daughter has a diaper rash. Is this true and why? I was also told I shouldn't use cornstarch baby powder and I was wondering if that was true.

I've had this problem in the past, how do you pee when your taking care of little kids? I really don't like taking them in the bathroom with me ( I don't think the parents would like that eather) but I don't think leaving them alone is a good idea (even if it was for two minutes). Now I have this little girl (shes 4) who wants in the bathroom with me! What do i do?

she will pretend the same thing for days and days, Right now shes pretending that my 2 year old is her baby, shes wraping her up in a blanket and making a crib out of couch cushions, giving her a doll bottle and rattle. Ill go to put the cushions back and she gets bent out of shape, well its driving me nuts. For one thing, I want my 2 year old to know shes a big girl. This game kind of defeats that. She will play a game where she has a pet store. there will be stuffed animals in all verios places throuought the house. some of them will be dressed in clothes. when I go to move them, my daughter will again have a little melt down. Im all for her having creative and imaginative play, but her games go on for days. Is this typical? What can I do to keep my sanity please?

I have tried the occasional swat on the behind, but not hard, I HATE hitting period, I have only done it to startle him and it seems that the 3 times I have done he than feels that it "is ok" to hit. Time outs do not work anymore as he has gotten older. Any suggestions on how I can make him realize that hitting period is not acceptable behavior? I am at a lost.

I'm farr away from having a kid, but I'm just wondering when that time comes, say they're in Kindergarden (5-6 yrs), is it alright if I use the soap on tongue method if they start to swear? Like saying the F word for instance? I've heard this is a good one and doesn't harm what-so-ever, but what're your comments?

I've been trying since my son was 18 months books, videos, bribes, toys, stickers, talking about it he's been around other children that use the potty he has underwear we've tried taking away diapers he just uses his underwear like a diaper and then it's harder to clean up right now he's using training pants. He has 3 different potty's all sorts of training stuff. I'm a stay at home mom so I'm always here with him. My mom said that I can't force him because then it could create a bigger problem like he could hold it indefinantly like some kids do when they're pushed but I have other parents telling me to rush him. I want to lead him into doing what's right but not to force him. I need something thats gonna change his mind. He wants to go to school but he has to be trained first and I can't get him to understand that. I'd like him to be trained by when he's 4 that will be in April but I'm starting to think it's impossible to train him.

My 3 year old step daughter and I are very close. She loves for me to do her hair, dress her up, hold her, etc. all the things that mommies do with their little girls basically. (her mother doesnt show her that much attention) Once she called me mommy and then became shy like she wasnt sure if she should. I dont mind and my husband thinks its adorable . He even says he wishes I was her mom instead. His ex girlfriend still loves my husband and I know she would not like her daughter calling me mommy. If i dont mind her calling me mommy and her dad doesnt is it okay to encourage her to do so and let her know its okay to call me mommy if she wants to or should I encourage her NOT to do it?

My daughter is 26 months old and she is very advanced for her age which ables me to buy her toys that are actually for 3 year olds, but what my trouble is is that she likes boys toys better! I order toys catalogs and when we look thru them together she is always interested in all the boys toys like Thomas the engine sets and work bench sets, she totally disregards the dolls and girly toys! should i just buy her the boys sets so that she stays interested in her toys or should i try to buy her girls toys so that theres no confusion now or in the future?!
I also have asked her if she thinks shes a girl like mommy or a boy like daddy and she always replys thats shes a girl, what should i do??!!
