I have been living with my GF over a yr and her 4 yr old son does not chew his food. He holds it in his mouth like a squirrel or something. for minutes...he will Talk with food in his mouth, run with food in his mouth, and get up from the table with the last few bites in his mouth. and will just hold it in his mouth??!!? Whats the deal with that? I even stress to him and my grlfriend how dangerous it can be, EX: he could choke on non chewed food, and what if he is running with this food in his mouth and happens to slip and fall...He just doesnt listen and it is to the point where it is an embarassment, even in public places he does this. Any help or advice.??

The pacifer? The bottle? I am a Grandmther, my children and Grandchildren were off the bottle at the age 12 to 13 months. I am writing about healthy babies only please. I do not like seeing 2-4 year olds with a bottle or pacifer. Some parents put soda, suger drinks in their child's bottle. I think that's awful

I havent been to one since I was in HS (10+ years) But our sons obsessed with the tuba, and we went to the bands pancake breakfast last spring and he never wanted them to stop playing. Just a little worried about sitting in the auditorium for awhile. He's a pretty mild mannered kid, and when allowed to watch something on tv, is glued (mostly music shows)

She was told she was tongue-tied at the age of two and had to have the small muscle under her tongue clipped. That is the reason she is in speech therapy. She will repeat a word after you say it, but really is not trying to communicate or make sentences. She points alot. She is very quiet and makes no noises. Please help me!

she's dying to go to school
she's potty trained, and very smart (knows her alphabet, recognizes letters and knows their sounds, stuff like that)

when can i put her in school?
do i have to wait until she's 5? and is it worth paying for a "preschool" ?

My 2 year old's behavior is out of control, & i dont know what to do anymore. I have literally read every parenting book, & have even taken aprenting classes with my husband, but nothing that we try is helping. Punishments, time outs, spankings dont help either. &ignoring him just makes his behavior worse!

Yesterday was by far the worst day. On our way out to go grocery shopping, our 2 year old kicked the back of my legs while we were going down the front steps of our house. I fell, & hurt my knee badly. Our son thought it was hillarious, even when i was crying.

At the grocery store, he refused to walk, and threw himself on the floor. When we tried to get him up, he kicked my husband & ran down the isle, knocking things off the shelf.

On the way home, he unbuckled his car seat and tried to get out of his carseat. We pulled over to fix it & he stiffens his body up , making it hard to buckle him.

If you have nothing nice to say or aren't a parent, dont waste my time please

My only son just turned 1 in september. We have two girls(5&2). We are now expecting our 4th child and my son is so rough. He hits and kicks and its all in play but he doesn't listen when I tell him to stop. We don't play with him this way(the hitting). Its painful to me when he does it.
I need advice on how to teach him its not okay to hit mommy or anyone else.

He never stays still, sometimes aggresive, never really listens when i tell him not to do something, will nearly always respond if i ask him to do something for me, very clumsy always walking into things, low attention span, always wants to be moving, constantly climbing.he doesnt seem to be as calm as the other children when we go to mums and tots, he didnt used to be like that its only in the past 3 months or so . Am i been an overreacting mum?

I've read things about immunity and whatnot, but I wanted to know if anyone had toddlers and pets and had it work out. My daughter has been asking for a house dog a while now, and I'm starting to cave - they would look so cute together.

So, anyone out there? Did it work?

My son only says about 4 or 5 words and not very clearly or consistantly. He doesn't seem to have any other signs of autism though, and he understands and non-verbally communicates very well. However, verbally he usually just grunts, screams or babbles. His doctor thinks he should get tested. I'm really worried. Also, I'd like suggestions on how to help him learn to talk, I don't know if I'm doing things right.

We have a 17 month old who used to love playing in the bathtub for an hour or longer sometimes. Now, she screams at the top of her lungs, cries, drools, nose runs for the entire bath (which has now been reduced to under 5 minutes). Nothing traumatic has happened and the water is luke-warm, not to hot, not to cold... we can not figure out what changed!!! She still needs baths! HELP!!!!
