she has picked up her cup with out puking this maybe a good sign. Thank you for all of the answers so far.....I need to add something. She has been sick before and I have used gatorade before but my child is stuborn and if she isn't going to drink anything SHE ISN'T GOING TO DRINK ANYTHING. but I only got the pedialyte this time when my husband gets off work at 3 I am headed out to get gatorade to see how that works...since she has shown a slight interest in the pedialyte. She just don't like it in any flavor.

Try a different flavor. I also think they make Popsicles, she might like those.

Having been there before, my trick was to give it to her in some sort of yummy clear liquid, the doc suggested jello, so I made the jello up and added a little pedialyte and got her to drink it before it set. I know, I know, the sugar etc, normally my little girl doesn't get very much sugar but my thought was if she can keep some of this down then I don't care what goes with it! Or how much sugar she has, in fact I think the sugar did her some good! I didn't make the jello quite as strong as you would normally and the remainder I put in the fridge with pedialyte mixed in so she could have it later if needs be.
But if she can't keep anything down no matter what you try then get her to a doc again soon for an iv to get the fluids into her. Good luck, I know how worrying it can be when your little one is sick.

Try the pedialyte popciscles. My daughter and son won't have anything to do with the drink but they LOVE the popciscle. I know they sell them at Wal-greens and Wal-Mart has them some times. If she still won't take it I would give her Gatorade because it still has electrolytes in it and that is what they want her to have. Good luck and I hope this helps and that she feels better. My daughter had a stomach flu for 2 days last week and it was non stop puking.

My daugher won't touch pedialyte either. Not even the popsicles. She does love gatorade and propel fitness water though. Either of those should be fine for her!! Keeping her hydrated with non-caffinated beverages is the important thing here. Anything she will drink, is good.

My son will not drink pedialyte but he will drink the Gerber brand. It even says on the bottle that the taste is preferred over pedialyte.

I agree with snizz, that pedialyte stuff is nasty. When you get the gatorade maybe try mixing it 50:50 with the pedialyte.

gatorade, popsicle, italian ice, relax, just try to get any liquid in her even a couple of tablespoons an hour will work, freeze the pedialyte it is to keep her hydrated not dehydrated, you are upset relax, a little broth even a teaspoon, but you have to be calm and let her lead the way, give her soda it is not the best but if all else fails a little gingerale is better then nothing

pedialyte makes freezer pops. My kids had no problems with those- but getting them to drink the stuff was impossible.
