I havent been to one since I was in HS (10+ years) But our sons obsessed with the tuba, and we went to the bands pancake breakfast last spring and he never wanted them to stop playing. Just a little worried about sitting in the auditorium for awhile. He's a pretty mild mannered kid, and when allowed to watch something on tv, is glued (mostly music shows)

I take my 1 year-old to her sister's high school choir concerts all the time and she loves it. I try to find a seat close enough that she can see what's going on, but on the aisle so if I have to get up and take her outside, I can.

I think it's great to take kids to see things like this as often as possible freom a very young age so they get used to how to behave in those situations and so they develop a love for music and the arts. Have fun!

Sounds like he loves music! My 3 year old loves music but moreso if he's the one playing it..lol. He sat through the last orchestra concert for about 1/2 an hour and then got a little restless. My husband and I just took turns taking him for a little walk. Your son might love it and sit the entire time. It sounds like he will from what you say. Go for it and take him! I hope you are encouraging his love for music. Get him an instrument to play with. My kids have all played since they were babies. Good luck :)

Although my mom has wanted me to take my daughter (I have younger siblings in band), I haven't yet tried it as I would be nervous also. But the way you described your son, sounds like it may turn out well if you take him. Maybe just try to get an aisle seat so you can leave easily if necessary, and bring some little things to keep him occupied should he need them. I would give it a shot based on what you said he's like.

depends on the personality. My daughter sat through almost a whole movie at the theatre at 10 months old! She would have done great at a concert at 3. Totally depends on the child

Yeah, i know the sensation. as quickly by using fact the better classmen in band graduate.. that's not not often as relaxing, yet nonetheless you apart from mght could think of that perchance you will be or are that greater classman to somebody else. while you're making plans on going to varsity.. in case you bypass forward and stick to band for decrease than 2 greater years.. they love that. It shows which you're a commited individual (by ability of the time you graduate that's going to likely be 8 years) and which you're multi-point logician. Staying in band could be a good thank you to a minimum of shop up including your skills (if not develop them) as properly. besides..it does form of suck once you're making it to the desirable so early.. it feels like there's no reason to maintain attempting, yet yeah.. i unquestionably think of you're able to stick to it. AND YEAH trumpet band administrators are *****.. my gosh.. yet you gotta love hating them. haha :)

he'll love it. make sure you sit where you can leave easy if he needs the toilet. take a drink and snack if they are allowed. try to sit near the back to prevent damage to his ears. most places don't mind a small kid standing on the chair to see over adults in front of them .

Go for it. He will probably love it. You never know what you will inspire!

Plus no one will hear him if he gets restless!
