You should really not worry. Mine began to walk when he was 16 monthes and it's normal, many babies do not walk on their own at 1 year, especially boys.
So don't worry, every baby is different and devellop his skills differently. One year is still very young, and if he didn't began to walk it's just because he doesn't feel the need to do it, or needs to "get" how the things are working before trying to do them. It will be the same with talking, some babies talk very early, and do speak fluently at 2, while some other at the same age know only a couple of words....

Aw the age old concern for babies age 1 year ;) Your baby is just fine hun. My oldested started walking just 2 weeks shy of her 1st birthday- and my second started walking when she was just shy of 9 months old- she had an older sister to keep up with! Kids used to walk earlier because there wasn't so many contraptions for them to be confined in- not saying that you do- that is just the statistics. Plus with the whole "Back" to bed compain is making it so that children are walking later- because of always being on their backs they crawl alter- then hense walk later. As long as he is crawling by now- that's all that really matters! Just make sure if he is not crawling that he does learn how too- whether he crawls or walks first doesn't matter- but it is developly important that he crawls. It helps fine to the fine motor skills- like for reading, writing, etc. Good luck and try not to worry too much!

My grandson didn't walk on his own until he was a week away from 14 mos. old - we were getting concerned because all off my kids walked before they were a year old. Well - looking back on his previous milestones, we should've seen it coming. He is the kind of kid that likes to sit back, observe everyone for awhile and take everything in before he does something, and once he does it he masters it almost immediately. He would walk around furniture, holding hands, etc. just fine but would NOT let go and just walk. Once he finally started to walk he was practically running the following week. The same thing with crawling, talking, etc. It's like he got his "practice" by watching instead of doing, if that makes any sense. I wouldn't worry about your son just yet.

A lot of babies do not walk at 1 year old. Give it time. There is nothing wrong with him, I am guessing this is your first baby. So my advice to you is ease up on yourself. Forget what you have read in the books and relax. Enjoy each momement with your baby. He will walk, talk, potty train and everything else when he is ready and not a second before,.

Just continue to be patient and supportive. Your boy will walk in no time when you least expect it.

I know with our son, he just got up one day... which happened to be his one year birthday, and started walking. From then on, he would try to walk and other times just crawl as fast as he could. We didn't push him either way.

Now... a couple weeks later, all he wants to do is walk.

So, encourage him when you do see him walk (clapping, cheering... etc.) and give him things to practice with. Our son would find laundry baskets and small things to lean on and push. We then bought him an affordable walker (not the one you put him in, but one he can push on his own when he feels like it) and he enjoyed that as well. Give these a try.

I think all these things will add up to him walking when he is ready which is the best time for him to walk :)

I have an uncle who didn't walk or talk til he was 2. He is a doctor today. Don't worry, just practice with him. I used walking toys to help my daughter. They work and they are fun for the kids.

Take him to a doctor to make sure he doesn't have a physical problem first. I used to know somebody whose little boy still wasn't walking by the time he was nearly a year and a half old. It turned out that he had a problem with his legs and needed physical therapy to correct it.

Believe it or not, many children don't walk until they are 14 to 17 months old. Don't worry, he'll take off before you know it! :)
