Children's motrin and tylenol are fine. Just don't use them both at the same time/day. They have very different dosing instructions and amounts. Also the AAP is saying not to give children any cold medicine, not even cold medicine specifically for children. Many people say that the Motrin brings down a fever much quicker than the Tylenol (I haven't noticed). But the Tylenol is gentler on your child's stomache

Childrens motrin is just fine.

I remember taking my son to hospital emergency room because I'd given him childrens motrin and his fever still wouldn't break. Well the nurse told me that it's okay to give him the motrin wait 30 minutes if the fever doesn't break follow it up with Childrens Tylenol. Well she did that and guess what It worked.

Adult Motrin? Um, no. Read the back of the package, along with any other medication you give your kids. It says for ages 12 and up.

Yes, children's motrin or advil is fine as long as there is no known allergies to asprins. Use the dosing chart by weight; it's the most accurate. Call your pediatrician if your not sure of the correct dose after reading the bottles label.

Motrin doesn't cause Reye's Syndrome or they wouldn't make it in doses for children and infants. Make sure you only give the children's formula and follow directions carefully. It's aspirin that may cause Reye's syndrome.

You have to be careful about when you give it to them. I believe that this is one of the medications that can cause Rye's (SP) Syndrome. It is OK for only headaches, or tummy aches, fever, but if they have the flu don't give it to them. Read the instructions.
