Well, to be fair, think about it from the "management"'s perspective...
If there are issues going on in the day care, it could be affecting other children/customers. So, of course they are going to want to address your complaints with the teachers. Did you honestly expect them to sit back for 2 weeks and say/do nothing about your complaints? No way...because if something happened to another child during those 2 weeks that was even remotely related to the stuff you complained about, then the daycare center management could be held liable for having been made aware of circumstances but doing nothing about them.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was a law in your state which *requires* the day care management to investigate/act upon complaints as soon as they are received.

I worked in a daycare-preschool for almost 5 years. Sometimes, when a parent would complain to my boss about the care, or treatment their child was getting, she would come and tell us so we could make the corrections. They also might be trying to let everyone know what is going on, and to see why you are complaining and who's responsible. They prob shouldn't have let every teacher read it, but i think it was okay for them to let all of your child's teachers read it. Maybe they were trying to make adjustments. They might treat your child differently for the next 2 weeks, but I bet it will be the way they should be treated, they might be afraid of loosing their job if they don't. I wouldn't worry about it. You've got two weeks left, and if they start treating your child inappropriately, maybe you need to take the complaint a little further up the chain of command. Good Luck!

I'm sure they showed it to the teachers/daycare workers more as a training tool to improve how they deal with the kids. I doubt that they would take it out on your kids. If they did management would be liable for lawsuits and they don't want that.

in a way yes and in a way no. if you didnt like the way your kids were being treated in daycare then managment should have not showen the letter to teachers instead, tell them what happened and to see if there was a better way to handle it without showing the letter.

I won't know the laws pertaining to your situation, but damn I would be mad. We were miserable with our provider (I felt like I had enrolled my kids in boot camp), they were with her for three weeks, I paid her weekly, so I gave her the money for the following week on friday and told her the kids wouldn't be back, I guess paying her off helped, but I didn't give notice for that exact reason. I thought she was mean enough already, I didn't need to give her notice to be extra mean. I would write a really nasty letter to them again, they need to do something to compensate for being such asses.

My mom is an attorney and just read your question and she says there is nothing illegal they did. They may have been trying to improve service so they showed their staff what you are unhappy with. If you think their care is not good, why would you leave your kids there for 2 more weeks?

I would take my kids out now, just because of how disrespectful that was for "managment" to have done. And if I were you I would write a letter to the newspaper about how unhappy you were with that daycare. maybe they can print your letter and detour people from bringing their children there... also, if you are friends with other parents who take their kids there let them know what happened...
that is so imature of the director.. how horrible.

Lesson Learned. Best just to say that you have decided to make other arraignments for your childcare needs. If you wanted to go into detail, then you should have done so after your children were removed and verbally to management.
I don't think that you have any recourse except to remove your children earlier and pay for double day care.

thats wrong on so many levels and i would confront management and let them know how unprofessional that was and how damn right pissed i am. if its address to the management then it is illegal for them to do this. If it does cause problems for your children i would talk to a lawyer to see what you can do. but if the teachers are professional and mature I'm sure your children will be fine
