What are the requirements of baby who should be allowed to eat the Gerber Dissolving fruit oat rings? My son is 8 months and has been eating solids since 5 months, is able to pick up things with thumb and index finger. I believe he is ready to start feeding himself but my worry is that I have never given him a food that had more than one ingreident. His food was always just straight veggie or fruit or rice cereal. Does he sound ready to be eating this gerber finger food rings made of oats? fruit flavored?

as long as he's ready to do it himself, i would say, just to be on the safe side. i think that if they are able to pick things up with their thumbs and forefingers, then its time for finger food all the way.

maybe start with the teether biscuits, arrow root cookies, biter biscuits or something like that, that is easier for younger children to bite.

This food is never safe, The Gerber Graduates product line is currently under investigation as a result of numerous recent reports from doctors and parents of children that have consumed these products who have been exposed to unsafe levels of iron.

I would be careful about giving any kind of dehydrated fruit. It has A LOT more sugar than fresh fruit because when it is dried the sugar is super concentrated. My son LOVED the Gerber Fruit Puffs. They are little stars, and are fruit flavored and veggie. He loved the banana flavor and the sweet potato flavored ones.
