Hi everyone!
This year, my family decided to adopt another family in need for the holidays. Well, the family happens to have 18 month old twin boys. However, I'm a 15 year old girl and have no idea what 1-2 year old little boys like. The wish list they filled out said they liked Barney and Teletubbies. I can't really seem to find much of that stuff, though. Do you know what else they might like, such as cars, or dinosaurs? Also, what are some good stores to get these toys for reasonable prices?
Thanks for the help!

My son is 19 months old. He absolutely loves trucks! He also loves books, stuffed characters (Barney, Elmo, etc..), videos, balls, ride-on toys or really any toy. At this age, children are very easy to please. You can go to Target, Walmart or Kmart to view a good selection of toys for reasonable prices.
Good idea~ I am going to look into adopting a family in need for the holidays:)

Hi There,
My grandson will turn 2 three weeks after Christmas. Right now, his imagination is becoming more obvious, more developed. He will take what cars and trucks he has right now and arrange them and play his own games with them so he will be getting more cars and trucks this year. Stay away from Matchbox and Hot-wheels type cars as these are too small and children this age will try to pull the wheels off the cars, which presents a choking hazard.
He loves playing in the water so this Christmas/Birthday wish lists have toy boats and other small water toys that he can play with in the bath tub during the winter and in the splash pool next summer.
He has recently discovered that he can make marks on the paper by himself when he get a hold of a pen or pencil so fat crayons and blank paper are a good idea.
Books, especially word/picture books. Children are never too young to be exposed to books.
My grandson loves watching the movies Cars, and Over the Hedge. There seems to be enough movement without a lot of violence that keeps his attention.
For the most part at this age, the best major toy line is Playschool and Fischer Price. Playschool does a very good job of creating age appropriate toys for all children. Beyond that, if the toy makes a noise the boys will probably love it.
Good luck

I have a 15 mnth. old/ 3 1/2 yr. old and they absolutely LOVE anything Disney/Pixar's CARS... They especially like Shake N Go cars which are battery operated cars that you shake and they make noise and run... My 15 mnth old LOVEs them because he can make them run ! That are around $7-$10 a piece ! Just be sure you read the age requirements and watch out for small parts... My boys also like MEGA BLOCKS and anything LEAP FROG/LEAP PAD learning toys.. Books are always a good gift....

I have a 14-mth old son. His favorite toys are balls and trucks. He also likes board books with real pictures.
Any place like WalMart or Target.
If you have TJMaxx or Marshall or Ross near you they usually have good prices on their toys (especially books).
Good luck and kudos to your family for doing something so kind for another family!!!

I am a mom of a 2 yr old.
He loves blocks for building.
Cars (about the size of your foot or bigger)
Trains.
Books, kids love to read and colour.
If you get them markers - make them washable ones.
My son likes big boy pjs (ones without feet)
Toy food. It allows kids to pretend and be creative also
We shop at walmart, zellers and other stores like that.
