My daughter puts her snacks on the couch and will eat them. I catch her doing that, so I'll put it on a plate. I am nervous about bacteria and tape worms and things like that. we dont have any pets, but still.

What is the treatment for this and how it is diagnosed? X-rays were taken at the clinic; however, her pediatrician didn't see anything that was a cause for a concern; however, as a precautionary measure she referred us to an orthopedic specialist. We see the specialist next week as she isn't walking yet other than with a push toy and walks with her legs outward and an awkward waddle. Her physical therapist feels that it's just lack of tone and endurance on the left side of her body as she's been pulling up and cruising furniture favoring her right side for the past six months. What say you?? Professional and serious answers only PLEASE!!

My toddler is 3 years old. She went to a family care from 8 months till a few weeks ago.

We put her in a bigger day care early January so she would get used to other kids in a bigger environment. She cried each day in the daycare and would not sleep. After lots of complaints from her preschool, we felt that it was not the right environment for her.

We found a smaller montessori with a much lower student teacher ratio and put her in for a half day programme. It has been one and half weeks in the new montessori. Her caregivers say that she is crying non stop and wants to go home. She is very adamant and won't listen to them nor would participate in any activity.

Today I was told that unless my toddler stops crying within the next week, we will have to withdraw my toddler from the montessori.

When I ask my toddler why she cries in montessori, she says she is afraid.

How do I help her? Is she not ready for pre school yet? What should I do?

My M~I~L keeps telling me TV is bad for her and not to let her watch it. She does watch for about three hours a day. All pre~school shows, and sponge bob occassionally(sp). I think it is even helping her learn new words and stuff. But if it's not just my M~I~L trying to raise my kids again, I would like to change her habbits to what is BEST for her. Any Ideas/ Suggestions??

children have autism. Some of these children have trouble concentrating on their homework. I sympathize with them but at the same time it hurts my feelings. My daughter can bite her hand until it bleeds. Do you think I have the right to be upset when the autism society puts a child that has trouble doing homework in the same category as my daughter that does things to physically hurts herself. Again I feel for the parents and children that have those problems but the only solution I can come up with is to block it out of my mind but that doesn't solve my problem and it will always cause me problems untill I find out a way to really solve it.

I know he started half way through so all the other kids were in a routine but he ran when they sat, he yelled when they talked, and he refused to raise his hand. He ran all over the place playing with toys and ignoring the teachers.
they have 1 teacher, 1teachers assist and 1 parent helper. I just felt like we were intruding and holding them back. I don't know.
I have been told that my son acts differently when im not there (more behaved) yet i was way in the distance and he still reacted the same. HE WAS THE ONLY LITTLE BOY TO HAVE A TIME OUT.
my question is. is it better for me to accompany him for the next couple weeks to help him get settled into the routine.(im scared of him disrupting the class and using all the teachers energy to disiplyne him.
Or should i just drop him off and let them attempt to settle him.
?????????
If there are any pre school teachers out there, id really like some advise.

I have been babysitting another little girl about the same age as my daughter for a year now. Within that year she has bitten her around 4 times, but one was yesterday and another today. Yesterday she drew blood. Its only this other girl that she does this to, and she doesnt do it all the time. Its just when she does do it its really hard. I dont know what to do and if my daughter was getting bit at daycare I would be really pissed. What do I tell the other girls mom so she isnt so angry about it? How do I stop her?

My daughter is 18 monthes and we just moved to a new city. Our insurance assigned the family a primary care physician. It's a famly practice dr and I have always taken her to a peditatrician. I am allowed to change if i want to, but is it neccesary. Will she get the same quality care that she would from a ped? Any advice would be great.

How do I get my very independent 2 and 1/2 year old son to listen to me and his grandma? He completly ignores us until we threaten to take away something he likes then he listens. Time out doesn't work, spanking (only when he could get physically hurt) doesn't work, and he is driving me nuts. I don't think I am very strict, I didn't even punish him when he wrote on the wall because frankly it was a very good A and T. He is very smart but doesn't talk and I know that causes him some frustration but I am trying my best to help him with that and keep him calm. He is always worse at night but does ignore us duing the day as well. He hears just fine because if you whisper and ask him if he wants his fruit snaks he runs to the food closet to get it. Please don't say this is the terrible twos because this has been going on for over a year but has gotten worse the last few weeks. I have to go from calmly asking him to do something, three or four times then it progresses to just yelling

There is a kid that has behavioral problems in my 4yo's daycare class. They try to get my son to 'use his words' but this doesn't work on this kid. Today my son came home with both of his cheeks scratched.
What do I tell my son to do about the kid?

Thanks,
Lisa

How do i stop my 41/2 year old son being violent towards other children?
He thinks it`s funny and a big game to push other kids about,he just laughs at me when i tell him off.

I`ve actually had to stop his nursery friend from coming round to play as he pushed her down the stairs, thankfully she wasn`t hurt.

I don`t understand where he gets this from as me and his dad when we were together were never violent towards each other or our son.

I am waiting to get him assessed for dyspraxia and i think one of the symptoms is Inappropriate behaviour and he doesn`t understand how dangerous his actions are.He has learning difficulties and can`t speak so i can`t sit him down and talk to him and make sense of his reasons for behaving this way,it`s also nothing to do with his dad leaving us as he was doing it before, advice appreciated, thanx.

i have a daughter who will be 2 in april she does what most little children do i suppose.....screams! If we are shopping the smallest thing will set her off and the roof on the shopping center shutters....im sure it does! at home she is a lovely girl sweetest little butter wouldnt melt in her mouth type kid but then one tiny thing, like her pram getting caught on the corner of the door and thats it she screams.I caught her pouring bbq sauce and flour into the cuppboard and i pulled her away kneeled in front of her and told her how naughty she was (it was partly my fault as i was folding and wasnt watching her)and she just screamed in my face over and over for about 2 minutes at a time. How can i deal with this with out smacking her? i have smacked before and i still do but she laughs at me!if i dont react to the screaming she makes a growling noise and try's to bite me i need a way to deal with her tantrums...any suggestion? anyone..please um help!ps. this child is very smart!!
