She is probably afraid of her for many reasons us adults will never really understand. The most common reason is the fact that the cleaning lady is a stranger, Maybe she uses loud cleaning supplies, like a vacuum, and this frightens her also. There's really no telling what's going on in a little one's mind exactly...but sometimes the causes are pretty obvious.
You can try introducing them, or telling her that it's okay, basically just reassuring your daughter that the cleaning lady is not out to hurt her.

i know you have to consider every thing but i think accusing the poor cleaning lady for making her scared is a low (other answerer's).My little girl was scared of my sisters boyfriend and my dad and her my partners mum's bf! she screamed if they looked at her even if they looked in her direction and it was just a phase those people she was scared of Cherish the ground she walks on lol.She grew out of it after not too long children can act strange sometimes. Also i think it would be hard for the cleaning lady to hurt or scare the child when she is by the nanny's side the whole time.

i know the one thing that used to scare my daughter at that age...the vacuum cleaner. She may be associating the cleaning lady with a noise she is scared of, the vacuum. This too shall pass, my daughter is 3 and no longer afraid.

children tend to feel safe and secure only around those they know, when a strange lady comes over and goes through her home and invades her safe place and doesn't acknowledge her she feels unsure and frightened...i would show your daughter that when the cleaning lady comes over you engage in a conversaation with her and smile at the cleaning lady and laugh becuase your daughter will pick up on you behavior and repeat the same....best of luck

yeah I agree. Was there any instances that might have happened with the woman that would make her scared of that woman?
