My son has napped every day, at the same time, in his room since he was 6 months old. (Next month he will be 3 years old.) Up until about a week ago, he would sleep almost 3 hours during the day in one nap session. (He goes to bed around 8- 8:30pm and wakes up between 7:30 and 8:00am.) Now, he just lays up in his room, talking to himself (lol)- but not sleeping. It's quiet downstairs, but he'll stay up there, awake, for up to 3-4 hours until I go get him. Any ideas on how to get him to start napping again? Do some kids stop napping this soon??

My son is 14 months old. I have been giving him liquid vitamins, but am looking for an easier alternative. (He has learned to spit them across the room, and refuses any food items they are mixed in to) Any ideas? I have looked into the gummie vitamins but I think that he might choke on them. What Vitamins do you give your toddler?

It's time for our daughter to move into a "big girl" bed. My parents bought a "convertible" crib for our daughter as a shower present. Now that it's time to move her we looked at the instructions and it become a daybed or a headboard for a twin. We put it together like a daybed but from the top of the mattress to the floor it's about a foot and a half. It seems too high to me and I think we should get a youth/toddler bed but my husband thinks it's okay since she doesn't roll around much. Am I just being too paranoid? Does anyone else have any ideas from when they took their children out of the crib? Thank you for any advice but please keep negative and spiteful comments to yourself. This is our first child and we're trying our best but we have varying opinions on parenting.

My son decided to use his new found vocab at his occasional care (kindy/daycare) words include shut up, idiot bi**h and f**k.
i received a phone call telling me that they are going to kick him out for saying those words.
they have given me a week to stop him saying them or he cannot go back. Any Suggestions please.

When i was a kid i made these personalised soaps at school for mother's day one year. we cut out different pictures and somehow stuck them to soap bars in a way that they wouldn't fall off if the soap was used.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to do this as it would be a great activity idea for a playgroup i am now part of.

Thanks in advance

My five year old has always had an interest in gymnastics. He could do a cartwheel at three 1/2, and has just always had a natural talent in that type of thing. My husband even home made some equipment for him to play on, and he does constantly. We recently enrolled him in gymnastics classes, and he really enjoyed it. He has only gone twice, and the second time he went, the teacher was showing him how to do a handstand on the parallel bars and he slipped while coming down and bumped his head. Now he doesn't want to go back at all. We haven't paid for the class yet since it was a free trial, but we'll have to next time he goes. He doesn't want to go back no matter how much encouragement I give him, and I don't know what I should do. He has never done well with defeat, and I know this is the problem, but I know he would still love it. The problem is I don't want to force him to do something he says he doesn't want to do, and spend alot of money on it for that matter. What should I do?

my boyfriends little cousin is always alone, doesn't get too much attention, has lack of stimulation at home and is a kid in general need for fun learning and enjoyment. for a while i've been playing fun games with him and doing all i can for him to feel happy as his parents are far away and he lives at his cousins. i'm beginning to think i should make things with him, just to stimulate his thinking, i want to teach him things and have fun with him, as opposed to sitting there watching pingu and playing with his toy train.

so, what is there to do? theres only SO much i can do, as it's not in my house, so big scale things like making the living room into a jungle is out of the question. and i don't think they'd let me take him to the park or anywhere far. i'm looking for creative things ....give me al the ideas you have!!! thank you so so much!

I have a 2 and half boy child (3 in April). I have tried many times to potty train. He understands the Idea he knows that when he use his pants or diaper its not good. He comes and tells me to change him because he wet him self or other. The thing is when i sit him in the bathroom he will sit for awhile and not go but I put underwear/diaper he will go in those. I ask him ever 10 min and ever 15 min I put him on the toilet. But nothing, we even have read books in the bathroom. I have read books even the one potty train in one day it didn't work we did the doll and party. I am enrolled in college now and to get him in the daycare at school he has to be potty trained. I can't enroll him in a full time one because I am a stay at home mom and that cost to much for the few hrs that are needed. I have 2 other kids it was never this hard with them

I just started my 1yr old on milk from soy formula. (on soy because he had issues with milk) So far he seems to like the whole milk fine. He does seem to have a bit of a sour stomach though. The doctor said if he has diaherra then he's allergic to milk. He doesn't have diaherra but does seem to have a lot more gas and his stools are slightly looser and defintely different. Does that sound normal?

My daughter has been in the process of potty training. Before this weekend, it has been pretty much hit and miss. You know, sometimes she goes on the potty, sometimes not. Well, on Friday, I bought these new Pampers Easy-Ups with Dora on them. So, this weekend, I told her that Dora doesn't like to be wet so try your best to keep her dry and happy. I don't know if that helped, but she certainly did much better than she has previously. She only had 3 accidents on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. But, today isn't going so well. I had to go back to work, so she's at Grandma's. She is there 4 days a week from 8:00 to 5:00, so it's not a strange place and she is comfortable there. I went to see her at lunch and she had only gone on the potty once so far. I tried to get her to go while I was there, but she wouldn't (of course I didn't force her). She was doing so well over the weekend. Why did she have a setback today?

She falls asleep normally and about an hour after she is asleep she starts talking and sobbing in her sleep. When I wake her to ask what is wrong she says she doesn't know and she can't remember what she was dreaming about. If I ask her in the morning what she was dreaming about she is very adamant and gets a little upset that she doesn't know and can't remember. I talked to our family Dr. and he said to write down what she is talking about in her sleep to get a better idea of what is bothering her and go from there. It just really upsets me when she is crying like that. Any one have any advice? Thanks
