I have this same problem with my 2 yr old daughter too .. She happens to really love Disney Princess.. so if I notice she isn't eating enough or doesn't want to eat what I have given her I just call it "Princess food" lol ... it really does work. Or I take her food and start eating it a bit. That works sometimes.. Also if she is into counting.. tell her to eat 10 more bites.. and get her to count the bites with you. My daughter loves the interaction and she is learning at the same time :)... GOOD LUCK!

Have you tried some of the nutritional drinks for babies? The can sometimes be filling and provide all the nutrients & vitamins a child would need. If she is eating a little every so often I wouldn't worry but if she continues to refuse food I would certainly talk to her Dr. for more advise.

What I did was put just a little bit of different foods in little bowls. I would let my child have a bowl of something like meat and vegetables and then a bowl of something sweet like fruit or pudding. When he ate the vegetables then he could have the sweet and then he would have to eat another small bowl of vegetables before he could have another sweet bowl. Something else you can do is mix applesauce in with vegetables to give them a sweet taste and still be healthy. If you are wanting your child to gain weight then you can mix cream in with her food and it will taste good and help her to gain.Good luck.

Don't make a fuss at meal times! Your child will not starve herself. Try and eat meals together as a family or try inviting one of her friends round.

Also don't give her large portions or use sweets as a reward 'if you eat this then you can have.....' has to be the worst thing you can do.

Hope this helps x

the best way is to make their food fun so for example make little pizzas with faces - get them to help you do it and then they will want eat it more!
My little cousin is 2 and we had trouble with her. We ended up playing a game where we we would dramtically say "dont u be eating my food" and she would eat it like mad and off your fork and be laughing her head off! especially when u did mock shock and cries " haw she ate my dinner" bit of a charade i know, but u know kids not happy unless ur making a fool of yourself!
good luck!

My kids went thru phases and had times when they didn't seem to eat much- I was so concerned I saw our doctor and he said to write down everything she ate and that she would not starve herself!

I wrote down the things she ate and it did seem she was eating more than I thought!

I tried to make the food more appealing and made fish finger houses, faces out of the food with eyes and hair, butterflies and this worked too.

Also do you all sit down to dinner together? perhaps if she sees you all enjoying your food and sitting eating it may encourage her to also.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Most kids are self regulating. I have two kids. Both were tiny as babies but now I can't get them to stop eating. Check with your doctor to see if your baby isn't eating enough to remain healthy.

I went through the same thing with my son. I tried everything to get him to eat. I finally took him to the pediatrician and they told me not to make him eat that he would eat when he got hungry. It still concerned me they told me that all kids will go through that and to just feed him when he said he was hungry.

If u are afraid she's not getting enough nutrients...Give her Pediasure. It comes in chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. It will give all the nutrients. I had to give it 2 my son.
