My granddaughter is 23 months old sometimes when she is just standing or sitting she will start shaking for no apparent reason. It is like a whole body shiver.

She was potty trained at 2 1/2, didn't wet the bed then but now for the past couple of weeks has been having accidents. I stop giving her liquids at 8 pm and make her go before she goes to sleep. I do not know what else to do.

While I’m supposedly sick, stuck in bed,
I’m wondering if a tiger could stand on its head.
I sneak out of bed, past my mom in her room,
She doesn’t turn around; doesn’t know, I assume.
I walk really fast, down two blocks to the zoo,
I know this’ll take just a minute or two.
I walk straight to the tigers and get down to my work,
The only thing I do is get them to go all berserk.
I get all trampled, all scratched, and all bit,
I might as well just forget it and quit.
On my way out I spy the ice cream man,
I guess I could buy the smallest chocolate can.
I turn around and see a roller coaster, The Flying Mouse.
Right after this, I’ll go back to my house.
When I got off the ride, my mom was right there,
Giving me this terrible, horrible glare.
Now that I’m grounded for a gazillion years,
I’m lying on the floor in a sea full of tears.
So, I guess that’s what comes of being sick, stuck in bed,
And wondering if a tiger could stand on its head.

My grandson, now 2 years and 3 months, has recently experienced significant changes such as moving with mother away from home and Daddy, starting daycare while Mom's at work then coming down with a respiratory virus in the midst of all this. He has become more attached to his bottle when he should be weaned from it. He stresses out and cries for his bottle the minute he gets home from daycare where he cannot have a bottle. I say not to pressure him until things settle down and let him have a bottle in the evening. My daughter says just take it away and let him tough it out. That seems too cruel to me.

some people tell me that it's terrible I only want 1 child! I have a four year old son, and I really only wanted one (a boy, so I got my wish) but seriously is it THAT bad to only have one? I don't plan on spoiling him to death which people often assume. What's the big deal?

My daughter will be 2 when her brother is born and we are redecorating now because at the moment it is pink, pink and more pink.

We have decided to leave the pink carpet as we can't afford to buy a new one but it is not really girly pink its sort of a darkish dusky pink.

We are going to paint the walls yellow and have a winnie the pooh theme. We have already got some yellow winnie the pooh curtains

What other ideas could you suggest that would make the room more interesting?
What other colour could I put with the yellow as an accent colour apart from pink as I don't want it to look girly, but at thes same time I don't want the whole room to just be yellow with a pink carpet

My son turned 2 on Sunday & had a party. I'm writing out the Thank You cards and wanted some advice on one.
One of my very good friends came in w/ a gift for my son & we are close enough that I could tell her, "he already has that one".
Well, he went to open it and I realized he does NOT have that one (it's the same brand/very similar) and told her, "wait, he doesn't have this one"... then he opened the next gift and I told her, "this is the one he has". It was a Playskool racetrack like the one he already has, the same one I thought my close friend had gotten for him.
I know I totally messed up and shouldn't have said he already had it, I'm aware of that (now). The child's mom heard me & I was very friendly when I told her "that's okay".
So, now that I messed up, here's my ?...
Do I leave the card as a simple thank you (this is to a child in his daycare class)?
Or, do I go on to say (the truth), mommy took me to exchange it for --- that I wanted, etc

My four year old son is a great kid and very loveable but his preschool-age attitude is getting worse every day. It's not so much WHAT he says, but the tone in which he says them, and he has to oppose EVERYTHING. If I ask him to pick up his toys he'll stomp and say FINE, OK OK OK. I'm not sure what to do about it because he'll do what I tell him to do, but he does it with the snottiest attitude. How should I handle this growing problem? I don't want him to be disrespectful.

Sometimes my two-year-old son sleeps a long time at night (sometimes he doesn't take a nap during the day or takes it at an unusual time). Lately he's been experiencing leaks whether we use Easy-Ups or nighttime Pull-Ups. Does anybody know of a solution? I've considered putting a cloth diaper doubler in a Pull-Up so it has more capacity and he can feel the wetness (and therefore learn to hold it until he gets to the toilet), but my main goal is to help him keep getting the sleep he needs.
He has started using the toilet--he'll use it anywhere up to around five times a day--but he's not really consistent about it yet, and I don't want to push him.

I used to wake my daughter (who is going to be 4 in April) up in the morning (6am) and make her breakfast. Mom would then get up at 7am when I left the house. A few months back I started leaving the house around 5am so I could no longer make my special little gal breakfast in the am. Then, my Daughter started waking up around 4 am on her own ... then coming and getting into bed with Mom and me. Most of the time she will fall back to sleep in about 10 - 15 minutes. Note: At bedtime, she has no problem going to sleep in her own bed. If her and I stayed up and had breakfast (at 4am), then my wife would have to get up at 5 am when I left the house. Is this something that I should put a stop to for it will turn into a habit that will be hard to break the longer it continues?

She has a fear of the toilet, she doesn't like the hole that it flushes through, same thing with the bath tub, she has to have that plug there. So I try to sit her on the kids potty, (with the bowl) and she'll sit there, she just won't go at all. I have tried rewarding, bribing her. She just won't go. I say you can have ice cream (her favorite) if you go like a big girl, she just says "no". I've bought her big girl panties and told her she is a big girl, but she pees in them.

Help!!

Alright, so I recently wrote in a question asking for help potty training my 2 1/2 year old daughter. I've tried alot of the suggestions and I'm still having some problems!

One of the suggestions was to let her run around without a diaper, although it might be messy. Well I was willing to try this but SHE wasn't! She walked around like that for about 3 minutes before crying and begging for me to put a diaper back on her. I don't know why she likes them so much.

I also tried rushing her to the potty chair when I knew she was going number two. I think this only made her more scared of the potty as she screamed as soon as I set her on there.
We've tried books, we've tried movies, we've tried both the seat that sits on the big potty and a little potty of her own.

She wakes up dry every morning/naptime so I know she's ready, I'm gonna start the chart, although I don't see how it's gonna work when she'll barely even sit on it! Any more suggestions would be geatly appreciated.

We are driving to Flordia Thursday and the drive is going to be around 15 hrs straight through. I have 5 children, and the 3 older ones will be a piece of cake, but the 2 youngest are another story.

They are twins and they are 18 months old. The problem is they HATE being in a vehicle. The boys scream about 10 minutes into any trip we take. Blood curtling screams, We are leaving at night so hopefully they will sleep most of the trip, but I am looking for some more advice.

I keep small toys in the vehicle as it is, and those don't work. Food only works for a little bit. Nothing I have tried has been successful. Maybe I am missing something after all these years of being a parent?

Who has some tricks up their sleeve to keep these little munchkins under control and at least semi-happy?
