Lots of colours go with yellow so it's quite a good choice. Why not print off some nice disney pictures or winnie the pooh pictures? Buy some inexpensive frames for them and you've now got some really nice nursery pictures. Some really nice bright scatter rugs would be nice, red, blue, green would look nice with the yellow and babies like bright colours more than pastel shades. You could get a really nice princess style canopy to go above your daughters bed and that way, she'll still have her girly stamp on the room. They're easy to make too if you can get some nice material. Just remember not to take colour and design TOO seriously. it is a kids bedroom after all, it's supposed to be fun. You don't need to impress anyone unless you think MTV cribs are filming in your area lol. Every lastthing doesn't have to match aslong as your little ones enjoy it. Good luck to you, your daughter and bump x

I had two girls but I did not like the color pink! They are just 14 months apart and I chose light blue and yellow for both of their rooms with teddy bears as the accent for the first one and stars as the accent for the second one. It was really cute, and the bedding etc. was reused by a friend of mine for a little boy's room with cowboys as the accent. (there was very light denim in the bedding) You can use light blue with the yellow. You can match the bedding material but have it more tailored for the boy and more ruffled and dainty for the girl. Or you can do solid blue for the boy and solid yellow for the girl and coordinate the two with accents that incorporate both colors. As for the pink carpet, you may be able to find a piece of carpet fairly inexpensively to cover most of the center of the room because the furniture of the room usually covers up the edges. Maybe even a large area rug. Just a suggestion.
Also, an idea for a shared bathroom as they get older: A friend of mine found shower curtain that were very similar (both were a denim blue) but one had sports balls embroidered on it and the other flowers. She bought one of each, cut them in half, and sewed two halves together to make one curtain (half with flowers and half with sports balls). She then mixed the flowers and sports theme throughout the rest of the bathroom. (her kids were about 9 and 10 by this time) It was so cute!

my son's room is a lighter green with yellow and a darker green. my friend did her daughters nursery in pooh and she had wall stickers? not sure what they are called but that's what it seemed like. if you go to a craft store i'm sure you could find something. you could also buy a wall mural that you can either paint yourself or the wallpaper kind that would make it more interesting.

Try throwing in a green honey pot beside Pooh Bear on their wall. Have a bumble bee flying around the wall, as if it's going to meet Pooh and the honey pot. The drawings can be acheived (traced in pencil) with a rented projector and a coloring book page. Some times you can find a cheap projector at your local arts and crafts store. You can paint Pooh, the honey pot, etc. with acrylic craft paints. They come in all sorts of wonderful colors. Good luck and congrats!

As you've got a pink carpet and lemon walls, add some bright colours and mobiles. Try turqoise, peppermint or cream, these are for either boys or girls. Bright colours and fun shapes - they'll love it!

You could have a nice baby blue colour with yellow, you could put some nice girly colours round your daughters bed so she feels like its still her room and some blues round the boys cot.

you could paint one wall a pale blue then you could paint on or buy the stick on characters of Winnie the pooh Also you could try to create a story using the characters and your children's names ie pooh holding a balloon and maybe tigger holding a ball with there names inside.

We have white walls and beige carpet. I painted the section of the wall around my son's bed blue, top to bottom side to side, then I stamped darker blue stars on top of the blue paint. Behind my daughter's crib the wall is pink, top to bottom side to side, and she has darker pink hearts painted on top of the pink. Then I printed off a sheet of paper with each of the kid's names on it and cut the letters out to make my own stencil of each of their names and put those on each of their sections of the wall above their beds.
