Children under 1 shouldn't not eat honey. Honey can cause botulisim. Their digestive system cannot digest the honey.

Two reasons: 1. There's some bacteria present in honey that can be dangerous to little kids. 2. Allergies, big time allergies.

this only applies to infants because they are highly susceptible to getting botulism (food poisoning) and honey is the leading cause of this. Infants get this becasue their digestive systems can't protect itself from germs like and adults can.

Children under one year of age should be fed honey because of a bacteria that their young bodies cannot handle called Clostridiurn bacterial. As kids get older their bodies are better able to handle the bacteria.
