I love this one, I have used this myself and swayed other family members to use it and it has worked like a charm. if she is showing interest in using the potty, tell her not yet, you can use the potty when you are two. And when she turns 2 have a pantie party. Go out and buy her all the cutest panties and alot of them that you can find. And celebrate that she is a big girl and she gets to learn how to use the potty. You can get her a little potty. And she will be so excited. Use panties, no diapers, no pull-ups, just panties. Once you switch to panties, don't go back to anything absorbent at all ever. Unless it is the absorbent training pants. But not something super absorbent like pull-ups, it feels like a diaper. The first time she has an accident you want her to feel wet and have pee running down her legs. After a time or two she will remember what it feels like when she is about to pee and remember that she doesn't like to be wet. This worked so well for me and other family member that we never even used diapers or pull-ups at night, and these kids are not bed wetters. Now, my first child, pull-ups were still somewhat new on the market and we used them and she just quit peeing in the bed about a year ago. i think when you do the potty training thing it is equally important to night train them too at the same time. Why potty train if you are just gonna let them pee on themselves at night. If you give this a try i promise you will love the results and it will be alot easier than you think. If possible the first few day try to stay home with her just to simplify your life. And any and every time you go somewhere always have her to go pee before you leave. If you go eat dinner at a restaurant, have her pee before you leave.

17 months is quite young to expect a child to take to potty training. Most children do not get control of their bladder muscles until age 2 to 2 and 1/2. Also, don't force the issue because this could have a negative impact on the whole process. It is better to just keep a potty chair available and gently persuade the child to try it each day. One day your child (not you) will decide it is time to toss the pull up. Reward charts and pretty new undies also reinforce the idea.

17 months might be a little early. She might not fully understand. If you think she does and you really want to train her, ditch the pull-ups and buy her panties (she can pick them out and that's exciting), explain to her very simply that she is going to wear panties now and not diapers. Show her (again) where the potty is and what she's supposed to do. Then get ready to clean up, because she's going to understandably have accidents. I didn't train mine until they were older (my son 2 1/2, and my daughter 2), but it's cool you are trying. Good luck!

I just potty trained my little cousin he is 2 1/2. I got some stickers and little treats (candy). I took him to the bathroom every hour. Set a timer then the child knows its time to go potty when the timer dings. Then if they go potty give them a sticker and a little treat. It makes it fun for them. Then they want to go next time too. Also tell her that when she stops having accidents she will get to go with you to buy big kid undies. My little cousin still has a few accidents but he keeps reminding me that he is gonna get to go shopping soon.

She may still be too young. Good luck trying. I have a 4 yr old boy who still does not want to use the potty all the time. It is frustrating. Just keep trying and try rewards or stickers when she goes.

don't do it too early. I would wait a little while. My babysitter says its always easier to potty-train in the summer. I would wait until then. take her to the bathroom with you - buy her a potty seat and let her sit there a little while. Don't make her sit there 30 min- she will see this as punishment and it will be HARDER to get her to go

do the pee pee dance if she goes or you go and have her watch u do the pee pee dance ( just make one up) or give her a dime or quarter for everytime she goes and be sure to give her a book to read while she waits... also take her at first every 15-20 minutes....she will begin to go also pull-ups not always a good idea while at home use regular paties and let her pick the picture on them so you can say okay u don't want to pee on dora so you have to go in the potty. good luck!

I think shes still too young. You will know when she's ready just be patient..and remember all kids are different, and earlier trained babies doesn't mean they are smarted...just be paitent.
