My 3 year old son refuses to drink the pedalyte. I have bought the ices', the singles and both in 2 different flavors and he refuses them. Says' He doesn't like this juice. I tried to mix it with other juice but he wont take it. Is there ANYTHING else I can give him to keep him hydrated?

Have you tried Pedalyte?? It is nasty! Try Propell waters! They taste good and are pretty good for you. There are a lot of hydrating waters out there. You just have to shop around for them. Try Dole popcicles they are made with real juice, not that fake stuff. Jello is a good one too. And when my kids are sick and want something warm try some Bullion. My kids love it as a hot drink when they are sick with the cold or flu!

Good luck!

Have you tried the unflavored one and mix it with some juice? It tasted a little like saline water to me. My daughter wouldn't drink the fruit flavors, but she loves water, so I mixed the unflavored with water and she drank it. She's only 19 months, so she may be easier to fool than your 3 year old. That's why I suggested mixing the unflavored with regular juice that he likes. If that doesn't work, ask your pediatrician about Gatorade instead, which also has electrolytes. Good luck.

My children will not drink Gatorade, or pedalyte. (I don't blame them either.) I tried mixing it with all kinds of other juices and it still would not work. I would give him watered down juice it is better than not giving him anything at all. Hope he feels better soon.

yeah pedalyte doesn't taste very good so I would try gatorade instead, I know for my kids they think it is neat/cool to have ice in there sippy juice cup so maybe try that. Also maybe have him try to pick out the type of gatorade he wants that way he gets to drink what he picked out

If he likes Gatorade, that would work. When I was a kid my mom would put Pedalyte in our water bottles during our soccer games, and even though we hated it we would drink it because we were so thirsty.

We used to use Gatorade when the kids were little.

Does he see you mixing the pedialyte with juice? maybe try mixing it out of his sight. Or even mixing it with the juice in the juice bottle without letting him see and then let him see you pour what looks just like regular juice.

They do make an unflavored pedilyte also. Some is better than none, try small amounts. I also give my kids gatorade (not powerade, its not the same). I sometimes buy them the sports bottle one so that they can drik right from that, but I always have the powdered mix on hand.

Have you tasted that stuff??? Some brands are so high with syrup that its just too gross.
When my daughter is sick.... ushually dehydrated or the runs we give her sugar water or coolaid. She can't have fruit juices they give her the runs and dehydrate her more. May not be healthy on a daily basis but it works best for her when she is ill.

Can't blame the kid. We couldn't get our kids to drink it, either.

Then one day, I came down with a horrible case of the flu, and I was severely dehydrated. My wife suggested the Pedialyte, since it was in the house, and that stuff tastes like the wrath of God.
