By that age my daughter was in LOVE with books. She would (and still does, shes almost 2 now) sit down with a book, point to the pics, and name all the things she sees. Shes also obsessed with ELMO, and it started around that age. She also loves "its a big, big world" and "bear in the big blue house". Music is a major love of hers. She started playing like a little mommy with her dolls around that age. Toy favorites were/are the "little people" play sets, balls, blocks, dolls, musical instruments, and of course... books books and more books! Her vocabulary explosion started at about 18 months, as well. She already had a vast array of single words, and a few two word phrases, but at 18 months, it was like she started learning 1-5 new words a day, and using 2-4 word sentences. Isnt it an awesome age! I love it soooo much! Its also such a great age with babies. She loves kissing them, loving on them, talking to them, bringing them things, etc. Enjoy it!

My 18 month old loves Dora and Curious George. She loves to watch cartoons, too all of them!! Her favorite toys are her Dora kitchen, her Little Leaps reading pad and her Dora doll that says different phrases. She can say a lot of words and she starting to put together 2-3 words, she almost potty trained too. She's a pretty quiet child, unless she's upset or excited.

My 18 month old likes to be read to and likes the large Lego's, stacking blocks and looking at pictures, watching Blue's Clues,
Wiggles, doing what ever her older sister is doing, playing with Care Bears, and acting like a mom with her baby dolls.

We have a 35 month old, an 17 month old and one due in a month. Our 17 month old is in to whatever the 35 month old is in to. And that is a good thing, because he is running ahead of the curve because of it. (However, that means lots of physical activities and books that he can't really understand.)
