I hear you stop at around 12 mos but I want to make sure it's okay to start giving him milk at that time. I see that there are other formulas after the 12 mos stage. My baby just turned 11 months old.

She is 10, and has lots of problems. Her mother is neglectful, so I feel that she needs to be part of our family. But she also has some very negative habits, like being occasionally hateful to my child, or talking back. I don't want this behavior modeled to my 3 year old, but my daughter adores her, and I know she needs us for some normalcy. What to do?

She used to always love to go. She would even cry when we picked her up. Now I am pregnant again and she will not go. They want me to make her come. But I don't want her to feel abandoned. I also feel they might have said something to her about the baby coming that made her insecure. My mother-in-law has no children(she is stepmom to my husband) & she is always saying things like give her to me or let her live with us. She tries to tell me she will be spoiled & bad if I don't make her go. They also tend to try & keep her longer than I say she can stay by going through my husband.Last time she went she told me that she wanted me but they wouldn't bring her home. I am really confused at what to do. I don't want to start a family problem, but I also know this is stressing out my little one & I am worried if I do the wrong thing I could hurt the bond I have with my child. I am the mother of 4 girls & one on the way & I have never had a problem like this.

My son is 3 and they are having a Halloween party at his daycare. The daycare is at a church, so of course they are forbidding anything scary. I'm tight on money....so any homemade ideas would be a BIG help.

Thanx in advance!

I'm due in 6 weeks and we live in a two bedroom house. One room is ours (husband and I's) the other one belongs to my two year old daughter. When should they be put in the same bedroom should I put the two of them in the same bedroom right away or should I keep the baby in our room for awhile. If and when I do put them in the same room how is it going to affect my 2 year olds sleep. We do have a video baby monitor so I'm not really scared about the two year old disturbing the baby. Any ideas.

he will pee in the potty and toilet just fine but he says he is "scared" of the potty. He wears underwear all day and only wears a pull up to bed. But when he has to poop, he will frantically search for a place to hide and he gets a pull up and puts them on and poops in them. but he will wait untill one of us is busy and then he does it. We have litterally tried EVERYTHING and nothing seems to be working. we tried taking the pullups away all together that he just got so constipated we had to go to the doctor. Im litterally at my wits end with this one.

My little guy has never slept through the night & I don't know why. When he was an infant, he woke up every hour for many months. Then he started sleeping for a couple hours at a time at night, refusing to nap during the day. Now that he is 28 months, he wakes up every 3-4 hours crying, and naps an hour in the afternoon. The Dr.said to let him cry, but that's not my style. I haven't had a decent night's sleep for two & half years and I am completely exhausted. Any ideas? I've tried: putting him in his own room, co-sleeping, night-lights, darkening the room, leaving a tv on, extra covers, no covers, eating dinner early, eating dinner late, bath before bed, reading books, giving him sippy of water to keep with him, stuffed animals, air purifiers, and fans. None of that has made any difference. Has anyone else been through this?

My 3 year old son will tell me when he's gone pee or poop, but only after he's done. He knows the words and he knows when he's doing it, so how do I get him to tell me before he goes so that I can take him to the potty?

My daughter always wants to roll her pants up at the waist until the bottom is at her shin. She wants her shoes tied (or velcroed) so tight that they leave marks all over her feet when she takes them off. She never complains that they hurt, but I know it cant be good for shoes to be that tight. Sometimes she wants the velcro so damn tight that there isn't any left to stick to itself (if you know what i'm trying to say).

Anyway, she'll throw the BIGGEST tantrum until her clothes are the way she likes them. How do I change this? Timeouts aren't helpful so please dont suggest them. I cant stick her in a time out when we're ready to leave for school/work in the morning. If I give her a little smack on the bottom, it just makes her throw a bigger fit. I am at my wits end. But she cant be wearing flood like pants in chicago in the winter, and cant have her shoes so darn tight that it's probably cutting off her circulation! Help!

I, got my son out of the day care facility, due to irresponsibility of the day care provider. I requested a copy of the signed contract from the provider, and I was told that, she would contact her attorney, and would get back to me.
Do us parents, have a legal right to ask for a copy of signed contract? I called licensing, and they said that they, do not know anything about it.
Could anyone please let me know? who should I go to.

My sons birthday is at the end of September. My mom says as long as you send them by six. The cutoff in the city I live in is Dec1. He will be 4 for 2 1/2 months while in kindergarten. I would like to keep him at home until he is 5. I want to know if I can do that with out getting in trouble. Is it that he is eligiable and that it is up to me to decide if he is ready. My daughter who is sixteen now. Went in to school early .(before 5) We lived in Massachusetts at the time and their cutoff was Sept 1. I made the decision to send her early but later regretted it. (When she was in high school.) I dont want to make the same mistake with my son. I dont feel my son is ready and think he would beneifit from the extra year at home. Is this an option? (Where the cut-off is Dec 1) Please let me know.

My two-year-old son recently wanted to be held "like a baby" and asked me to sing "rock-a-by-baby" to him. He suddenly got tears in his eyes and started crying quietly. I thought I had hurt him and he said I squished his toes. Then he asked me to sing again, and he cried again. Of course, seeing him cry made me cry! Just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences. Can music really affect a child so young?

My son is 3 years old. He will only eat a few foods such as mac and cheese, grilled cheese, hot dogs, all kinds of fruit. No veggies and no meat other than hot dogs.Of course he will also eat french fries.I only discovered he liked hot dogs this summer at a cookout. I dont typically serve hot dogs at home, but do now. I try to keep offering different things he just hands it back to me and says no. I am frustrated. I cook a balanced dinner everynight and have to make something special for him. I forgot one other thing he eats is peanut butter sandwiches also plain pasta with grated cheese. Some days he eats almost nothing. The foods I listed are the only things he will eat but sometimes refuses them . He is a typical weight for a 3 year old. He weighs 38 lbs. Does anyone else have this problem with their kids? How do you deal with it? I keep thinking he will outgrow it but it persists. It has gone on for months. Hope to get some good advice.
