My son is 3 and they are having a Halloween party at his daycare. The daycare is at a church, so of course they are forbidding anything scary. I'm tight on money....so any homemade ideas would be a BIG help.

Thanx in advance!

Make him a Dalmation. (We did this at work.)
Go to wal-mart or Target and buy a white sweatshirt and sweatpants. Buy some black shoe polish or black paint. (not a lot)
and dab circles of black paint on the clothes.
Get a head band and some pipe cleaners. get a pair of socks (infant socks or toddler socks work best) and dab some black circles on them. twist the pipe cleaners on the headband and put the socks over them (for the ears).

very simple, and cheap. Looks great. just paint his nose and some whiskers and hes a dalmation.

A hobo, dress him in a pair of daddy's shorts, (they'll be longer pants on a three year old) you can put his own clothes under the shorts, get an old shirt of dad's tuck it into the shorts and tie a piec of rope or old scarf around for a belt. Find an old hat, doesn't matter what kind the more worn and beat up the better. If you have eyebrow pencil make some markes on his face and then smudge those markes to look like "dirt", with his own shoes in them put him in a pair of dad's boots add a bandana with junk inside tied onto a stick and you have a hobo. You can do this to make him a clown as well just add white make up paint instead of the eyebrow pencil and brightly colored mis matched clothing.
If he is small enough you can easily make him a ghost. Get a king sized pillow case, measure where his eyes, nose, mouth and arms are on the pillow case, cut them out put a white long sleeved shirt (any kind will do) a pair of white sneakers pull the pillowcase over his head and you have a ghost. (not all that scary)

Bob the Builder - buy a long sleeved white shirt (Walmart) and paint orange and yellow squares all over it, overalls, construction hat, nail apron from Home Depot and draw tools on it. If you do it, get the shirt much larger than needed because it won't stretch much with the paint on it.

Many years ago mother made my brother a costume using a old twin sheet as his robe and a pillow case as his head dress. A make shift belt and you have got yourself a shepard.
