it depends what the mechanism of your carrot allergy is. It has to be determined whether you have a true carrot allergy or a condition referred to as oral itch syndrome which is actually a reaction to tree pollen allergens due to conserved tree allergen proteins found in carrots that occurs in individuals with seasonal allergic rhinitis to tree pollen. Cooking carrots usually denatures the proteins so they are no longer "allergenic". Beta-carotene has not been linked as a major allergen in carrot allergic individuals. You need to see an allergist to clarify what is going on.

Your daughter is probably allergic to carrotine/ beta-carrotine. It is the yellowing agent in vegetables and some fruits. This can be purchased in pill form. Try a beta-carrotine pill from the health food store to see if she has an allergic reaction. If she does then there are probably other things that she is allergic to also. Mostly found in fruits and veggies.

I my self have had food allergiess all my life. You can eat the same food all your life and one day have a reaction to it. Same as medicines. Watch carefully especially when trying new foods. Some foods only cause rashes and will go away in time but medicines can cause throat swelling, I know!! It's not all children that have allergies my son is going to be 3 soon and he's never had allergie problems yet, but you never know.

I never heard that one, but I was allergic to garlic and onions for years (no longer) --try eating out without either of those ingredients in the food...carrots should be easy to avoid.

What new vaccine did she get?
Seriously, I think THAT is what is responsible for all the peanut allergies you see.
