Ok, I am worried about the way that my son speaks. Everyone is saying Autism. But he is intellegent. he can sing any song after hearing it twice. He knows is alphabet, can count to twenty, knows his name, and if i give him direction, such as sit down, go to your room, put it in the trash/sink, lets take a bath, ect, he knows what im saying and will follow instruction. he just will not talk to me. and like i said before, the things he says are in sentences, but they are completely random. Still need help.

My 15 month old son loves throwing his blocks on the kitchen floor. I have patiently picked them up everytime and sometimes he follows me. I am normally very patient with him, but this evening, when I told him to pick up the toys, he simply tried to run away. When I insisted, he promptly picked them up and began throwing them into trash. His tantrums are increasing ( asking to play with the phone, mobile phone, reaching for my books instead of his, pulling my hair, face....etc) I have been dealing with all these with firm no's, firm refusals, distractions and so on.....but this evening, I snapped. I quickly picked up the toys and instantly picked him up and left him in his room for a minute. I obviously shut the door and there was no light in the room, except for street light coming in thru the blinds. After I minute, I ignored what happened and told him, baby is sleepy, lets go to sleep. He got into his bed time fun and slept in 20 min. What's the best way to time him out ?

Why do people look down on people that use a harness for their toddler? I think it looks kind of like a leash for a kid, but what if you had a really active kid. Isn't it better to be safe.

My baby is just learning how to walk, no I don't own one of these contraptions. I was only wondering. I think I might need one someday!

I received a phone call the other day from my son's friend's foster parent that over the weekend when my son was over at their house, they were playing doctor. Now, they were both fully clothed and it is obvious that his friend instigated the game. I asked my son how they played "Doctor" and he said his friend would kiss him on the tummy, his butt and pee pee (mind they were fully clothed), and my son kissed him on the cheek. Now this is a foster kid and his foster parent says he was never sexually abused, but has watched violent movies and most likely sexually explicit ones too. So I don't know what to do, other then the "doctor" incident, they are great playmates. Should I continue having them see each other or not allow my son to play with him? What would you guys do?

i am a mother of a 2 year old who will be 3 next month her name is Isabella and i love her too death. I honestly never thought i could ever love someone this much. But i am afraid my parents did most of her raising for me this is my last year of college and my parents have decided to retire not too far still in the tri-state area. I have an apartment (rented)and my parents covered my tuition thus far and still do. I have a job part time i make about 800 dollars a week it pays for my books and anything else i may need but am concerned this might not be enough. The area the apartment is in does have frat houses and the like one is next door. For the most part they keep it down. My daughter has been with me living for three days and crys a lot today i was called out of class to go pick her up from daycare. How can i help her adapt better?

Our son is 2 and 1/2 and absolutely refusing to try the potty. Some people say don't push it, others say drag him to the potty 1,000 times a day. I do a little of both. I ask him many times a day if he needs to potty...the answer is always a very resiliant "NOOO!" So we go to the bathroom anyway, go through the routine, no interest. I have tried bringing the chair into the playroom, offering rewards and continual support "I know you can do it!"

Any advice out there for me? Thanks a million!
