Unfortunately, I do not believe Florida had a booster seat law. So this means your child must be 4 years old legally to sit in a seat belt. I do not suggest this though, I strongly recommend using a booster until your child is 80lbs. So many children's lives have been lost when in reality if they had been in a booster seat they may be here today. Check with your Department of Motor Vehicles or your Local police Department and they will verify the age/weight requirement for your child to be out of a car seat.

Until your child is 4' 9", she or he MUST be in a booster seat. This can be a simple box seat sold at a store that sits on your car bench.

Because each child is different, child safety seat laws are built upon by the child's height and weight, not age.

Not sure about Florida laws but why would you be in such a hurry to get them out. My daughter is 11 but very sma, under 4'9" and 80 lbs which is out state standards, but i want to keep her in a booster until she fits in a seatbelt the way i like her to
