We pack a mini football for our 3 y/o when we go to watch our 13 y/o play football. We toss back/forth and have fun while the big kids are playing. Also, lots of snacks. Crackers, sugar free fruit snacks, water. Also - our son likes dinosaurs - we pack a little bag full of his smaller ones. Having a friend to play with is also helpful -- we bring a wagon and when he needs to rest, he'll do so in there. He also has his own special chair and blanket (so he can look like the other folks) and it makes him feel like part of the group. It can be a lot of fun - if you pack well; and terribly frustrating if you don't. So - use common sense and have a great time!! Good luck!

My son played soccer this last summer and I brought my three year old daughter with to every game (his only lasted a hour two nights a week) but we always brought along markers and paper, books to look at, and a couple of those hardboard puzzles (or the wooden ones), a juice box and a snack like grapes or something and she was always content. Hope this helps.

I just had to do this for my 4 yr old and 20 month old. Flash cards, little radio with headphones, crayons/coloring books, a bucket to put rocks in, OH and bring a beach type umbrella with a blanket to give him plenty of room to move around on and the sun won't bother him. Otherwise, he'll get hot and cranky quick.
Also, if you are daring, bring a plastic spoon , peanut-butter and a sleeve of crackers. It takes them forever to put the peanut butter on the crackers, which works for you. And they love to eat it.
Hope this helps.

What, you think we DADS don't have any useful advice to offer?!?!
Anything small with no removable parts ought to be good -- Matchbox cars, Fisher-Price "peg people", and such....
What about a small magnifying glass ( a plastic one shouldn't be able to focus sunlight enough to start a fire) to take an up-close look at nature -- blades of grass, flowers, ants, etc. Or maybe a prism, if you can find one at the Imaginarium or the like, for creating your own rainbows?
Maybe if the child has some small construction vehicles, like a bulldozer or a crane, they might be fun for pushing around pebbles or dirt outside.
Have fun!

I would definitely include bubbles I love blowing them for my three year old they keep her entertained for hours. However since you probably want to be able to focus some on the game, I would pack crackers, action figures, blanket, juice box, puzzle pieces, washable crayons, and an activity book. Have fun! GOOD LUCK WITH THE GAME!!
