I find it amazing how people can answer a simple question with an opinion!

Just because he is Three does not mean that he can't be an organized sport. It teaches him how to follow rules and directions in a surrounding outside of his parents.

When he is involved in a "team" and he shows no interested or joy in working with one then he will not be involved with one until he shows he is ready.

I'm obviously asking because he shows an interest because I do play many sports with him in the back yard and I will continue to do so.

Thanks to the people who gave answers and not opinions!

Try the YMCA. In my area they have sport programs for 3 year olds.

Have fun!

Try your local YMCA and your local parks department. My 3 year old daughter does soccer at the YMCA and has taken ballet and other classes through the parks dept.

Some churchs also have sports programs that are open to the community, but in my experience most of those don't start until age 4 or 5.

I think he's a little young for organized sports.

At this age maybe you guys can go out and play catch or kick the ball around just for the exercise and the fun of it.

He'll have plenty of time for the rigors of organized sports.

Has he expressed an interest in sports? Or is this just to make him a "man" ploy by his father?

I found this website helpful.

You can search for classes at GoCityKids.com and find soccer or other sports for your toddler. You can search for neighborhoods close to you.
