I believe this happens often and the reason it happens is because they get lazy and the new has worn off. When you are first potty training, you give them constant praise and sometime little prizes. Then the new wears off and they find it is easier to go in pants. They no longer are getting attention over going to the potty. You have to find a way to keep encouraging them and praising them. Sometimes it's as simple as a sticker or some way or something to keep their interest. Good luck, hang in there and bless you!

At this age, children will bounce back and forth. My son said flower for a month and then would not say the word again for 4 months. Just be encouraging. Don't get upset with her. She's still learning how the world works. There are some great articles at www.babycenter.com and bulletin words as well that offer advice from moms and dads that have been in your situation. Good luck and don't stress. It's probably only a temporary setback :)

Could it just have been that you gave her something that loosened her bowels enough, that the urge to go didn't wake her up? Give the kid a chance. Backsliding is not uncommon in any training. The fact that you use pull ups for nap and bedtime, is sending a message that you EXPECT her to have accidents. If you don't want her to use the pull ups, don't use them.

Don't put pullups or a diaper on her, they will make her think it is okay to have an accident, mostly because before potty training that is what she was always supposed to do, just throw them all out.

Is there any changes going on in her life. Maybe a new brother or sister, or moving, or starting daycare. My neice went through the same thing when her baby sis was born. Start potty traing process all over or completely take away pullups.

Accidents happen. Start with the potty training routine all over again. If you initially took her to the bathroom every 30 minutes, do that again.

She sure got your attention didn't she? She is testing you. they have accidents from time to time, maybe she likes the attention she is getting for doing something wrong. Be patient and praise her when she does good! I have seven children and had them potty trained long before 2. They are all adults now and had no trouble training their kids. Sign me Great Grandma

Happens. Go back to what worked before. Be nice, positive reinforcement catches more turds than diapers. Wait 'till she gets her first D in algebra! Makes this look easy don't it?

Bring back rewards system for successful potty sessions. She probably misses that and is looking for more attention.
