My son still doesnt speak. The things that he says are random sentances and he repeats them over and over. I am really begining to become concerned. I want to start potty training, but I just dont think he is ready. What should I do?

I'll definitely suggest you to go to a child developement Therapist asap. They are specialised in fields of child development. It could be anything from bing autistic, to hearing deficiency or any thing. So it is better if you take his soon.

Hope this helps you.

I think before you potty train him you should take him to the doctor to see why he is not speaking. Before potting training he has to be able to tell you in some sort of way he has to go to the bathroom.

My son is 2, he will be 3 Nov. 1st, and he talks all the time. He tells me when he goes poo and pee, and he can say anything. He can even memorize songs and sing them.

I think you really need to go to the doctor and get this checked out. Maybe he just needs to get some help with words? They would know at the doctor's though exactly where you should go for maybe speech therapy.

Three is a good age to start potty training if you haven't tried already. If he doesn't catch on right away, or doesn't want to, you can always try again once a week or every couple of weeks, but if you want him to be able to start school at 4(junior kindergarten) he will need to be trained. Consider the way he sees conversations carried out. Maybe there is something you can change in the way you speak to him, and others, to make him better understand how a conversation works.

You might want to have him checked out just in case and it will put you at ease if nothing is wrong. Or he may just be a little slow with vocab and just says things over to get it right.

My son is three and if something remotely reminds him of a train he will start going on and on about trains and pointing at whatever he sees. And he will repeat himself until he thinks I understand how he is reminded of trains

You need to take him to a pediatrician and discuss this with him/her. Your son might need treatment of some kind. It is not uncommon for a child to not develop speech like other children. Speech therapy might be needed. I don't think he would be ready for potty training, however, if he understands what you are saying, you could try. All you can do is try, but don't push him into something he isn't ready for. But please seek a doctor's opinion. Good luck.

Has he been tested for Autism? Repeating things over and over, and having/insisting on a set schedule are signs. Get him in to be tested. The sooner children are diagnosed the better the treatment.

You might want to have him checked for autism or he may just behind. 3 year olds should have at least a 300 word vocab and using sentences and phrases, you should be able to understand him 100 % of the time at age 3.. Talk to your pedi.

My brother had delayed speaking and it was because he needed ear tubes, so it could be a hearing problem. Also, delayed speech is an early warning sign for autism. You should have him checked by a child psychiatrist ASAP.

I'm sure you've discussed this with your doctor...but another option is to check with your local school system. I recently took my 4 year old to a preschool assessment screening at our local school. It's free...and they'll check everything from speech, hearing...even psych. testing if necessary. Give your school a call...they should be able to help. (The one here was called The Preschool Assessment Center)

Have you had his hearing checked? not to alarm you but has he been evaluated for Autisim? mabey hes just not ready or mabye he feels he has no need to talk because you know what he wants anyway. its really hard to say why he may not be talking. my 3 year old talks my ear off. go see your pediatrition. it could be serious or it could be something simple.
