Am I the only one left that makes arrangements for my kids- either have a sitter come over, or go at night when my husband's home?

I hear and see more and more sick kids being hauled out shopping with mom these days and it bothers me.. part of healing is rest- and getting drug out into the world is anything BUT rest to anybody- and especially a child! Can't you remember how tired you'd be as a kid when you'd have been out with Mom?

I just asked this question a couple of minutes ago. I think people are reading into a little too much. I just wanted to know if ALL sexual predators must stay away from children. I work at the YMCA 4 hours a week and someone suggested that we should have a listing of all the sexual predators in our county. Someone else thought it would be against their rights. Then someone else said that they have no right to be at the YMCA because there are children present. This is why I was thinking about it. Just wanted to know what the laws say if anyone knows. Thanks!

do you feel the time out generation is a softer more spoiled child, compaired to a good swat on the butt generation?

do you feel that parents try to be too cool with their kids instead of knowing the right balance of friend and parent?

does it seem to you that more kids run the family then the parents do now adays?

how will or do you raise your kid?

My husband can be really great, but when it comes to me leaving him with our little man alone, he is the worst. I am getting really sick of this because the moment I turn around even for just 2 seconds, let's say to go to the washroom, have a shower, then I hear the baby screaming in the other room, he banged his head onto something because hubby was too busy doing something on his computer or doing something else. Everytime I need to do something and I leave him with our son alone, when I return, the baby's got cuts and bruises and sometimes we end up in the ER. I talk to him about this and he just has a careless attitude, this is really frustrating for me and I don't know what to do about it. I gotta do other things sometimes where I can't carry baby with me. Also, the baby is both of our responsibilities, but it seems to end up being mine alone. I care for this child 24 hours a day. I know hubby loves the both of us but he gets way too distracted like a kid and lazy to care for baby

Must all sexual predators remain away from children or is it just those that have minor victims?

In my house, my mom's ideal soap threat was Palmolive dish liquid; mainly because it was the only soap she used to wash dishes and knew it tasted like crap. I absolutely hated it when they made the bottle smaller in the Ultra soap because the bigger bottles were easier to knock out of her hand, the smaller one had the tight grip and she was able to hold onto it much easier.

Palmolive tastes like crap, I can't use that soap to this day.

Especially if the child is being mean to other kids (including your own)? What do you do? Is it okay to try and discipline him or her? Do you contact the police because the child is not being watched by an adult? What would YOU do?

P.S. I'm talking about a child that is about 4 or 5 years old.

I just got in "trouble" for leaving him alone for 1.5 hrs in my house while I went to the gym. I am a first-time dad. I adopted this boy when he was 3 years old. I think he is of reasonable intelligence and I left him lots of verbal instructions ... don't do this, don't do that, etc.

i'm one of those stupid teenagers you guys are always talking about. i'm almost 15 and last month i snuck out and went to a senior party, then got kicked out when they found out i was a sophomore. i took my mom's car, and i got in major trouble. i just got off of groundation recenty in fact. now, this weekend, the "friends" are going out and we're gonna crash another senior party. don't get me wrong, we're not drinking or doing drugs. we'll prolly just end up knocking over trash cans and throwing fire-crackers in metal mailboxes, then run away when they call the police. and i'm not taking the car, and i won't have to sneak out, just say i'm going out with the usual friends, lie about what we'll be doing, say i'll be home and whatnot. so it's not half as bad. but i'm having second thoughts. why? usually, i'd jump at the chance to have fun and risk getting in trouble. now, it's like i'm scared too. why?

My daughter has a shirt that she got at Daddy-Daughter day camp. It's a one day event in our community every summer where Daddies take their young daughters and they do things like go on a nature hike or work with horses in a stable- it's a bonding experience to encourage Daddy-Daughter bonding. It's a lovely idea, really. Well the t-shirt says "Ask me how much my Daddy loves me."

I left my daughter at preschool yesterday. She wore the shirt. The substitute preschool teacher completely blew the shirt out of proportion and thought it was a sick joke about child molesters & incest. I was furious when she called me about it.

I'm newly divorced and dating a great guy on wealthyromance.com(at least he seems great after five dates). Things seem to be progressing so quickly ? I'm excited but also wary. He has a daughter, and he wants me and my son to go to a movie with him and his daughter, but I'm not sure if it's too soon to introduce him to my son. I'm afraid my son will think I'm trying to replace his father. Help!

My husband and I have been fighting for the last month and it is to the point where I want to leave! We have to very diffrent point of views on the subject of stay at home moms see my mother was a stay at home mom and was there me whole life and I could not imagine leaving my one year old daughter with strangers and want to stay at home, but his mother was never there when he was younger and worked all the time and he feels both parents should work, I have checked into child care ex: nannys, childcare centers, babysitters and they all run about 8 to 12 dollars an hour and Im 20 I had my daughter a year ago and had to stop going to school due to having her so right now I could only bacially get a job at min wage which is 6 dollars so why would I get a job just to pay more in child care? also he is in the navy and is gone for months at a time so arranging a scedual would be even harder , someone with any insight please help he is so mean about the whole subject I would just love a 2nd op

My friends son is now 2 and a doctor addressed rectal bruising. This occurred after a visit to his father and grandfather. The little boy is demonstrating all kinds of behaviors including inappropriate actions to the dog, gagging, posing with his butt in the air and saying things such as "do me". My friend has managed to get supervised visits and she is doing everything she can to pay for lawyers who do nothing. She needs a strong advocate, someone to really help her save her son. I would appreciate any suggestions or contacts as I have a son of my own and I cant stand the thought of what the two of them are going through. Thanks for any help or links you can give, especially people who are willing to get involved.

My boyfriends name is Lewis, everyone calls him Lou for short. He is the 3rd and if we have a son he says he wants the son to be Lewis the 4th. I, however, hate this name and do not want my son and my husband having the same name. He says no matter what thats the name he is giving his son. He said if we have a daughter I can pick the name but if it is a boy then it will be the 4th. Is this fair for him to do that ? ? I know it's a family tradition but shouldn't I have a say in it ? ?

My husband is coming home from a deployment. I've spent the entire deployment redoing our house, rearranging furniture, taking care of the yard and cars, taking care of our toddler (and our unborn child), going through tons of boxes that were in storage, doing AAAALLLL of that laundry that was in those boxes (approx. 25 loads in the past 3 days) etc..etc..etc.. just to make sure he has NOTHING to do when he gets home. I want to spend time with him because 2 weeks after he gets home he goes back to working 13 hour days. I've missed him so much and now he'll be back in 6 days. I'm so happy but I've lost all motivation with the house. My back hurts, and in the past 2 days my toddler has emptied a 3lb box of pancake mix, a small plastic aquarium full of crickets and umpteen loads of clean laundry on the floor. LOL. Uggghhhh....What can I do to get my groove back? I was doing so well.....

I have a reason to believe that my 8 month old son is being sexually abused. I picked him up at the sitters house this afternoon and I changed his diaper and his penis was really bruised like dark purple. I called the sitter and asked her about it and she said that she noticed it and thought it was from the baby bouncer. I also have a baby bouncer at my house and he plays in it all the time and has never been bruised before. If anyone knows if that's a sign of sexual abuse or if a bouncer or walker could have caused this I could really use some help because I don't know what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Her b-day is next week, we have a party planned at the local High School pool, and she passed out invitations today. She got home from school told me her invitations were "all wrong", which they are not, and ran upstairs to her room, barricaded the door, and hid in her closet. When I went to ask her what was wrong, she just repeated her invitiations "are all wrong". (They were fine yesterday when WE printed them up). I asked her what happened, if anything, at school today, if she is feeling alright, if somebody teased her about the party....

She actually had a complete meltdown. I have never seen her like this. Told me she wouldn't go to her party, I can't make her.... this is not my daughter. She is a great child, never any trouble, I can't seem to get anything out of her as to why this has upset her so much, other than "they are all wrong".

Any other suggestions??
