I just asked this question a couple of minutes ago. I think people are reading into a little too much. I just wanted to know if ALL sexual predators must stay away from children. I work at the YMCA 4 hours a week and someone suggested that we should have a listing of all the sexual predators in our county. Someone else thought it would be against their rights. Then someone else said that they have no right to be at the YMCA because there are children present. This is why I was thinking about it. Just wanted to know what the laws say if anyone knows. Thanks!

Sexual predators, any of them, who are registered child sexual offenders cannot be within 1000 feet of a place where children congregate. End of story.

Anyone who has ever been found guilty of a sexual crime has all their information in a database that is made 100% accessable to the general public.

All that said, I think you should check with your local government, and if possible list these offenders in the locker rooms or something.

I know you can pull up a website to see how many live around the area which is suppose to be so far away from schools and such. That would be the same as posting it at the YMCA and I don't see how that is against their rights. And the other person is right, if they are registered then they should have no business being their.

Depends on what country you are from. I know Canada keeps it private so that they are NOT (edited to add that, spelling error took it out) beat up or killed, the USA does not and it's free for you to check.
Now, there's a simple solution- If someone is hanging around the children , if they are strangers, and if they have no point to being there -whetehr you know they are predators or not-They should be asked to leave. If someone is bringing their child, it's their right to be there. If you feel suspicious about their behaviour-report it.
