I wouldn't worry about this if the child was under 8 years old.

I have been a mom for 28 years to 4 kids who are now 28, 26, 22, and 10. I also have provided child care in my home for 20 years. "Cross-dressing" for both boys and girls is quite common in the early years, I would say about age 8 and under. I have quite a large box of dress-up clothes and girls have worn the "boys" clothes and boys have worn the "girls" clothes many times. My son, who is 26, used to wear my shoes when he was a toddler, but he liked to wear his dad's shoes, too, as did his sisters. My sister-in-law (my husband's sister), who has a tendency towards sharing way too much information, would sometimes mention her husband's quirks in our phone conversations. More than once she would say how she had come home from working the late shift at a department store to find he had put the kids to bed and met her at the door wearing her bra and panties! YIKES! I am not saying that it's a bad thing, but I sure can't get that image out of my head whenever we're together as a family! Oh...by the way, my son who used to wear my shoes, he is gay, but other than dressing as Jaclyn Smith the Halloween he worked for K-Mart, I don't think he's ever had an interest in women's clothing. If he did, I never caught him going through my clothes, but I have a pretty boring wardrobe. He's much more fashionable than I am.

Can't say that has ever happened to me. But I know kids experiment. It could be a phase or it could be a life style is forming. No reason to freak out. First, talk to the son and ask what he is feeling. Depending of the age, talk to a professional on adolescent behavior or if the son is older, send him to psychologist or psychiatrist that can help him explore what is going on, whether it is something he will live with or a passing phase. Good Luck.

Being the father of 2 sons under the age of 5, yes, I have had this happen. They are still fascinated with the things that are different and this need not be a concern.
Being children, they will find the weirdest stuff to put on their heads, feet, arms, etc. They are experimenting. Just laugh it off. Momma has some strange stuff to a little boy, and he finds it fun to see if mom's bra will fit on his head or her panties will fit him like a shirt. When he gets older, tell him about it and he will laugh at himself.

I have never personally experienced this, but from what I've read it is not uncommon.
I agree with the previous writer - I would not worry too much about this if the boy were under 6-8 years old. Many children enjoy playing dress up and do not distinguish between men and woman's clothing. It's just fun to find stuff and play with it.

This has not happened to me. However, if you need to be concerned or not depends upon the son's age. If he is 10 or older perhaps you need to get some parenting advice from a professional to know how to handle this situation. Otherwise, if he is a young child it means it is probably no more than dressing up for fun.

How old is your son? Depending on the age, this can be completely normal curiosity, or could be something more. My 3 year old son has put on his sisters' dresses, and once put my bra on while I was folding laundry, but I don't see that as abnormal, he was basically just trying to get a reaction. He knew he was being silly.

Well pending on how old your son is... Sometimes it is just a phase for a boy, but teach him about it and he should grow out of that phase... I am a son and i never went through that phase, but i do know poeple that have... It shouldn't be anything to worry about.. But it could be if it doesn't get tooken care of now...

Yeah my son loves wearing my shoes and dresses! He is four so this is normal LOL!! I would only be worried if he is a teenager. If he is don't get freaked out about it talk to him openly about it or he will shut down not tell you anything! Good Luck!!!
