As a parent I think they all should stay away from children. Personally I give them no sympathy, they should be behind locked doors. (I dont care if they had childhood issues or mental problems, the best place for them is away, where they cant make problems for other children.)

I do think of people who touch infants could be imprisoned and could be marked a predator, definite. A predator for all times? possibly, possibly no longer -- i do no longer desire to appreciate their purpose while they touched a toddler. I do understand your element. the undertaking turns into the place do you draw the line. while could somebody be a predator of infants? you could no longer drink until eventually you're 21; could or no longer it relatively is below 21? Vote at 18, so below 18? power at sixteen, so below sixteen? it ought to have been consensual, yet that would not exchange the actuality that she continues to be, technically, a toddler. infants have become sexually lively at 11, 12, 13! i do no longer desire to work out rules asserting that a 13 365 days previous isn't a toddler via fact they're, to me. A sixteen 365 days previous is a toddler to me. at the same time as a sixteen 365 days previous are in a position to shield themselves greater acceptable than a 6 365 days previous, it does no longer mean they could desire to no longer be secure and could be forced into adulthood in the previous their time. in case you desire to be an propose, I applaud you. yet please evaluate the justifications for those rules and the an prolonged time. in the journey that your cousin became into 40 4, might it nevertheless be ok? (some states do have age brackets that supply lesser offenses to youthful perpretrators, alongside with "over 17 yet no greater advantageous than 3 years older than sufferer", etc. It style of covers the youngster who turns 18 it relatively is dating a 17 365 days previous.) And at what age do you think approximately those sufferers to no longer be sufferers anymore? that's molestation against a toddler, so which you may desire to come again up with the thank you to be certain who's and is not any longer a toddler. good success.

All sexual predators have to stay away from children. They have to live a certain distance from schools and other places that children congregate. They must also register as a sex offender in their place of residency.

There is supposed to be no "unsupervised" contact with children if they have a minor victim. that can be waived by a probation officer if person is considered low-risk to reoffend and has children him/herself. Unless there is a special reason to worry, most people convicted of a sex crime is allowed to be around children if that is supervised by another adult. Not to mention, that the majority of people convicted of a sex crime DO NOT reoffend just on the basis that it is a sex crime to sleep with a girl you didn't know was underage. Or a 18 year old boy who has sex with his 17 year old girlfriend..there's far more of those kind out there than actual sexual predators.

I assume you're talking about convicted sex offenders. It depends on the terms of their probation/parole. Practically all are required to stay away from their victim. Given the public hysteria over the subject I wouldn't be surprised if they are also commanded to stay away from children regardless of the details of their crime.

I find the whole thing ludicrous; so much time, energy and resources being spent on a group that has the lowest recidivism rate of all criminal activity. It creates a "leper" sub-society of outcasts and completely puts the lie to rehabilitation and re-integration into society.

All the legislation about staying away from schools, parks, etc is just "feel-good" legislation. If someone wants to commit a crime (whatever the crime is) no law written in ink on a piece of paper is going to stop them. Logically we have to focus on the "want" part of this equation if we wish to have a hope of preventing future victims. All sex offenders in all 50 states are required to attend sex offender counseling and this has been shown to be effective, further reducing an already-low recidivism rate.

But, no... as a society we choose to push them out into the fringe, keep them unemployable, deny them housing, deny them family contact if the family has children; we do everything we can to push them so far out of the bosom of society as to actually create a more dangerous situation - a person without hope.

Do you know what the most dangerous animal on the planet is? A man who has nothing to lose and no hope of it getting any better.

I wonder if that first answerer realizes if he gave a real answer, Yahoo wouldn't pick on him...

Anyway...

If you've committed a sex crime, you are supposed to not live near schools or whatever. I don't think it's actually court ordered for them all to NEVER be around kids-- but what kind of parent would allow it anyway?

i think its just the ones that have minors as their victims. it may be diff state to state, but the laws need to be tougher on these pervs. i know in michigan i sat in on a court hearing for a guy who was on the sex offenders list for molesting his niece. he was never put in jail just on probation. was ordered to stay away from kids. he was found in the bushes next to the school and they told him not to do it again. thats all he got - a slap on the hands.
