There seem to be a lot of women who stayed home with their children in the past (particularly more mature women), who now critisize working Moms? l'm not talking about which is better to do, but doesn't it seem that if you've been luck enough to be able to stay home with your children, you shouldn't judge those who have to do both? I've done both personally, and l can never understand stay home Moms saying that working Moms will never understand the pressure they are under?! I take my hat off to anyone who can juggle a job and children, and l think they should be applauded for the contribution they make to their family AND society. What do others think?

This morning I was sitting outside with a friend having coffee at a local Starbucks, when I witnessed two young girls (about 13-15 years old) sitting at the table next to us. One of the girls, saw a spider crawl across the table and took out her lighter (why she had a lighter one can only guess) to light it on fire! Her friend just watched her and stated "oh you're mean" in a very casual manner. I am not a parent, but I hope that when I do have a daughter (or son) that age, they would show more compassion for living things - even if it is a spider! I was so upset, but my freind thought that I was over reacting. What do you parents out there think?

large grocery bag of junk food. I told her stop sending this stuff home with my child we do not eat this type of stuff in my home-I understand thats her grandma but my child came home with a bag that contained (lg bag of funyuns, cheez-its, assorted bag of candy, sour cream and onion pringles, pack of oreo cookies) is all of this necessary. my child's grandmother continues to ignore me when i suggest she buy my daughter fruits (which my daughter absolutley loves) but she goes "well she kept putting stuff in the basket" and i tell her "she is a child and you are a adult, tell her no-this stuff isnt good for her" what is a more effective way to approach this?

I was at a gas station and saw a young woman slapping her 3 year-old across the face with the backside of her shoe over and over again...
I think the kid wasn't climbing into the car fast enough for her.

I told her to stop and she started chasing me with the shoe and cussing at me to "mind my own f'ing business"... Her friends held her back.

Was I right to call the police and report it as Child abuse?

My three year old is kind of cruel to our kittens. She carries them upside down, by their necks, pulls their tails, pokes their eyes, throws them, hits them and screams bloody murder when someone tries to correct her behavior, is this normal or do I have a future Ted Bundy on my hands ?? Yet, no matter how she treats them, those darn kittens snuggle her when she is asleep....maybe the kittens have physcological problems , too ?

I was just wondering at what age do you think is the right age to have a baby?

I know it depends on the circumstances, money, the realationship..etc. But all that put aside, just purely what would be the best age in your opinion?

My opinion is around early 20s, as my mum and dad were in thier 30s when they had me, and i wish they had of been younger!

Originally my husband was supposed to teach our son Spanish and about Ecuadoran culture. Unfortunately he is several cards short of a full deck. I still want my son to know about his heritage though, his family lives across the country so I can't rely on them for everything. How do I go about making sure he knows Spanish and about Latin history? I have good vocabulary but I don't always conjugate things right.

I have heard that kids don't use their imagaination with toys and tv around, but my daughter plays vet with the dog, makes lists and is constantly using her imagaination. I was wondering if this is declining with the tv and game boys, etc. Or if kids use their imaganation daily still to do cool and weird things...?

I sit in with children reading and I notice that on the whole girls seem to do better. Although the books cover a wide range of subjects somehow miss the point with boys who then lose interest.

In my state there have been at least 3 cases that made national headlines about mothers who murdered their children. In all 3 cases: Andrea Yates, Deanna Laney, and Dena Schlosser, they were all determined to be legally insane and were either acquitted and/or sent to a mental hospital.
Of course they were insane!! No sane person would kill their child!
Then you have people like Susan Smith and Darlie Routier, who are in prison either on death row or for life.
I just saw this website about a little girl who was killed by her dads girlfriend: http://www.codiaston.com

What is going on in these peoples heads??

What do you think should happen to these people who kill children? Nothing can bring these children back, but they deserve justice in some way.

right here the thing when i found out i was pregnant and told my parents they were fine about it because i am old enough etc
but i noticed they started acting different like they were newly married(all cuddly n all that stuff) they were not really like that as much before and feels like i am having 2 be the parent in the house because they are always doing stuff like blarring music and things that people my age would do. n tbh its startin 2 make me feel out of place.
is that just there way of reacting 2 be grandparents?
this is there first grandchild they are in there early 40s

My 9 year old daughter called me from her friends house bawling her little eyes out and said mommy please come and get me but she wouldnt tell me why she was crying on the phone. I didnt bother to ask to talk to the parents I just jumped in my car and flew over there. She was watching for me from the window. She ran out the door and flew into my arms literally almost knocking me over. I asked her again what was going on but she didnt want to tell me. So I asked her friends mother if something happened and she said no. But once we got home she told me that her and her friend went to the playground (she's not allowed to go by herself so that upset me) and they didnt know it was past the time when they had to be back. The girls mother went and got them and when they got back to the house, the friends father spanked BOTH of them! My daughter has never been spanked in her life so she was mortified. Im mortified. How should I address with them because that upsets both my husband and I.

that you will not allow your daughter(s) to own/play with?
If so, which one(s) and why have you forbidden them to play with them?
In my situation, I will not allow my daughters to play with BRATZ dolls. They are dressed inappropriately and trashy.
And as far as the cartoon goes(I only saw a part of it briefly), I see now how they got the name BRATZ.

Hello!! I'm 33 y/o & am happily married!Catherine Ella is my full name, but you can just call me Ella. I have 3 children, they are all girls! Their names are: Charianna Rose 5 yo
Danielle Elizabeth 2 y/o will be 3 in July
Caroline Scarlett 8 months (she goes by Scarlett!) Oh! By the way for the people who were wondering Charianna is pronounced (chair-E-aNNa) The name of twin #1 will be Anabella Renne. The name of twin #2 will be Ansley Grace. The problem is though, Charianna is not responding to this news well. At first she didn't seem to mind it but now she is crying, screaming, and constanly having fits about it! She's been through this 2 times already so I don't know why she's making such a big deal out of it. What are some ways to ease her into the idea that she's going to have 2 new siblings?? She is a very social child and enjoys coloring and all normal activities for her age. (playing house etc.) So why is she taking this sooooo hard??

For awhile now my b/f hasn't been able to see his daughter because his ex is not letting him. Her excuse is its the kids decision if she wants to go or not. THE KID IS 5 YEARS OLD!! What kid would want to be away from their mom at that age. He doesn't pay child support and he has no problem paying it if he had too. He just wants to see his daughter! Can anyone help with some ideas or laws that you know of to help our situation. PLEASE PLEASE!!!

I feel like a horrible Mother. I have a son thats almost 4 months old. I have a lot of health problems. I have a nurse that comes to my house to give me medication, I have awful dysmennorhea, I'm hypoglycemic something awful, I have arthritis in my hip, and many of my problems mostly gauchers Disease make me verrrry fatigued. A lot of days I can't play with him much and it seems like he is just a huge bother to me, cuz i feel so crappy. He is heavy and I cant carry him far.

He's just a little baby, I fear what happens when he's a little older and wants to be really active and playwith me all day. He wont understand whats wrong with me, he'll just think I'm a crappy boring mom.

I don't wanna be a bad mom and I try really hard to get up as much as possible and be with him, do you think he'll understand when he's a little boy or will I just look like an awful parent?
