I love babies and I love kids and I believe in the santicity of life but do you feel that there are some woman out there that should not be mothers?

I am sure you heard on the news about Andrea Yates who had 5 beatuiful children and drowned them one by one in the bathtub because the devil told her too?

Why did she not get help? In light of what I just shared do you think there are woman that should never get pregnant in the first place?

I was for financial and medical reasons advised never to conceive and my husband and I made a councious choice with sugery not to have kids, I trust God he knows what is best.

Do you also feel that there are ladies giving birth but are not truly mothers? I once said to my mom anyone can be a mother but it takes someone speical to be a mommy?

What is your take on this?

This is for men and women. Have you decided that you do not children? If so, on what did you base your decision?

I am in my mid 30's and have never had any interest in children. People tell me I'll change my mind, but I just don't see it happening at this point.

I have heard the argument that children are "future generations" and that the Bible tells us to be fruitful and multiply, but I would like to hear something new. Perhaps you feel society places too much importance on children, or it is a financial decision?

Hello, I'm Ella. I'm 8 months pregnant with twin girls, and already have 3 girlies! Charianna Rose is 5 y/o and will be in K-5 next year. Danielle Elizabeth is 2 but will turn 3 next month, she will be in K-3 next year. Caroline Scarlett (goes by Scarlett) is 9 almost 10 months old and will be in the nursery in the fall! Anyway, the kids are going to go to a one-week bible school next week and they have half-day or full-day. I want all of the kids to go, but they will all be in different groups, because of ages. So should I just let them go half-day or should they go full-day and make new friends? Half day is from 8 in the morning til 12:30 in the afternoon, while full-day is from 8 in the morning til 4:15 in the afternoon. Should I split them up? What would you do? Thanks in advance. ~Ella~

A friend of mine just read messages from MySpace that her 14 yr old step-daughter sent on my friends home computer last night. Her step-daughter said she had drunk, faded and had sex with a 19yr old homeless boy in the bushes at some party in the woods. She said in the messages, that she didn't give a F--K and has recently been kicked out of HS. I want to give some good advice, but I am a single woman... with no kids. I say tell the parents and give tough love. But both the biological parents are "head in the sand" kind of people. And my friend is going crazy thrying to help. She feels out of control and doesn't want to be the one to step in. But I think she has to.
What can they do with this young lady? Where can they send her?

She makes these references every other day – sometimes in a jokingly manor and sometimes it sounds like she’s serious. I often see medicine or other items on the ground that she lets our 7-month old play with. My other son is 2 and a half. I’m not sure what to do. I don’t know if anybody would believe me – on the outside, she seems like the sweetest woman, she’s an accomplished school teacher, she’s very religious, and the list goes on. I live in San Mateo county of California. Also, she breast-feeds, so no meds. I would love some advice and some specifics on what I can do. Thanks.

My god son's mother is way behind on her rent. The normal rent is $680 but she has had to pay $720 for over a year because she is always late on paying. She told me that she is over $2000 behind in all of her bills and that her gas is cut off because its summer and she couldn't afford to pay it.
She has to pay her May's rent (yes May) today which she is still $95 short on or else it will go into collections.
She calls me and tell me all of this because she feels that I should give her the money. She actually had to audacity to say that I need to GIVE her the money so that she can be back on track. Who does she think I am and why should I have to be responsible for her?
She has a 6 year old and a baby on the way. Why bring a newborn into this madness?? She doesn't get support from the fathers and doesn't want to file for any. I have bought food and assisted financially in the past but not anymore. Am I wrong?? I have my own bills to worry about.

My 15 year old stepson moved in with my husband our daughter and I 18 months ago as he said he hated his mother and didnt want to see her again - she said he had become very difficult. He promised to improve his behaviour and learn to help in house a little and be able top do things for himself (was very molly coddled). Things were okay but recently he has become very close to his mother again (I'm pleased) but now his behaviour has become over time unbearable he shouts swears has no manners and says he hates both myself and husband. I am worried this is effecting my daughter who is 5 as she is trying to copy some of his behaviour. I feel I have lost control of the situation this has not been helped by my husband who has always taken a dim view of my previous firm parenting and sometimes did not support me when I feel we should have been diciplining him. He now recognises that his behaviour is out of order but I think too late.

My son is 20 months. We have a nice little family, My boyfriend of almost 3 years, his 4 yr. old son from a previous relationship, and us. The 4 year old calls me mom, he does not see his bio mom (her choice) and my 20 month old calls my boyfriend daddy. He is the only daddy he has known.
It works, and we like it.
Sorry, this parts a little complicated to explain...
My son's biological father's ex wants my son to get to know her 5 yr old daughter( my son's bio sister) and I don't know if I should.
Bio dad does not want to be a part of my son's life, which is fine, because he has a daddy.
I don't want to overly complicate my son's life, it will be hard enough to explain when he is ready, and I really don't like this woman, but I don't know what to do.
How should I handle this?
Would I be a bad person to keep his sister from him for now, or should I let him get to know her?

Here is my current living situation: Married, 2 kids; one a biological toddler and a 9 yr. old step daughter who shares 50/50 custody between our house and her mom's house.

My problem is that my step daughter doesn't get enough attention from her mom and feels like she should get extra attention here when she comes over. When she's here she feels like it's her turn and that her little sister should be put on the back burner.
My husband and I both do one/one activities with our 9yr old but we cannot favor her the entire time she is over here. My husband and I have a hard time just having a conversation without her needing to be a part of or we can't give our toddler attention without my step daughter getting jealous.
My husband and I treat both the girls equally and won't favor one over the other. How should I explain to my step daughter that she is getting upset because her mom blows her off? I don't want to make her feel bad but she needs to understand the situation.

Once again my step-daughter has stolen from us. She's 11, almost 12. Her Mom never blames her, and if we punish her, her mother punishes her older sister "for not stopping her" or else she says that her older sister did it and framed her just so she'd get in trouble, since they don't get along very well. I'm just the stepmom, and she doesn't live with us so her Dad's hands are somewhat tied as well because wouldn't her mother have to approve any kind of professional help since she has primary custody of her? I just want to help her before she ends up in juvenile hall or worse! :( Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

My son will be 5 in Mid September. His Nursery school strongly suggested holding him back a year form entering kindergarten. We are unsure of what do do. But, we don't completely agree with the school.

If you have, what did you do? A ruler? A stick? Where did you hit your kid? Did you find it to deliver the message?

BTW, I believe in appropriate corporal punishment.

All too often you see overweight kids, and childhood obesity is running rampant in our communities. You see these kids with donuts and chips and cookies and ice cream and soda. But you never see them with apples, yogurt or cheese...when you see the parents, they are almost always just as big. When you run into them shopping, the cart is full of sugar and instant gratification meals, mac and cheese and canned crap. These things are fine once in while, but you know these folks and you know that this is all they eat, never tossed salad or grilled lemon chicken with steamed asparagus and rice pilaf. These children are headed for lives of ridicule and an obscene amount of health problems....now, this question is for the junk food eaters....NOT health problems that cause weight gain..I am an average sized adult with 3 boys, all of my boys are average sized...my 4 yr old weighs 45lbs, my 10 yr old-60lbs& my 11 yr old-70. I know an 11 year old child that weighs over 120lbs...healthy?

My friend has three children, one boy aged 7 years, one aged 7 months, and a girl aged 4. The eldest boy has started to 'spy' on his parents whilst they are showering or changing, and my friend caught him telling his little sister to 'lick his bum', he has also started to touch himself, quite blatently infront of everyone.
Is this normal behaviour for a boy of his age... or is he a bit disturbed?
