I agree. On that point, when did it become okay to write f**k in a magazine? Heat mag always prints it. Then there is the Phat Bast**d clothing line. A man is just walking about with this printed on his top for all to see, and my kids can read. Im telling them its a bad word but its written on his top?
I also would never buy from french connection because they think they are being clever using a word that is meant to be and looks like f**k.
bring Mary Whitehouse back from the dead to sort this all out!!

Some people do not realize how unintelligent they sound when every other word out of their mouth is a swear word. Swearing is a very bad habit to break. Parents who do this in front of their children are setting their kids up for a hard time in school. They will get in trouble for bad language and really make them (parents) look bad.

It's all these idiots on the road. I only ever seem to forget not to swear in the car. Then my daughter reminds me i should not say the naughty word. So now i have started to call them flippin' idiots instead. But i'm finding myself in doubt there, it might make my kid judgemental as she grows up and think someone is an idiot because they wind her up. Hmmm.
My parents thought me it was wrong to do so many things. Yet, then I would catch them doing it themselves, I would never have dared ask for an explanation, it would only result in me being told off.
At least I give my child an explanation why she can not do things.
I said 'sjitt' on a train in Holland once. Made a right mess when i tried to pour coffee from my flask. It was an early train with few commuters on it. After i said 'sjitt' they were laughing. But then the Dutch are weird ...

It seems that it is hard to find anyone who is not swearing, though I do not agree with it, it is everywhere. Each person should be held to a higher form of speech with out the profanity. It has become to easy too fashionable to speak swearese. When I hear bad language it conjures up pictures of dirty gas station bathrooms, dark allies, unclean,Yuck . I guess I am saying we are all culpable not just some immature parents.

No it's not hard. My mother did not cuss in front of me. Well maybe a slip or two. I do not cuss in front of my kids. Unless you consider...Fluffy, bahdonkey, poo, and fiddlesticks cuss words. Wait that's a lie, I had them in the car with me, and some jerk decided to slam on his breaks going 55 mph, so I said freakin idiot. Not the mother of all mother cuss words, just freakin. I got put in a ten minute time out from my five year old. On the other hand, these kids hear worse words than that at school. You are never going to be able to shelter them from bad words. I don't care who you are, or if you never cuss. They will learn them one way or another. This post is coming from someone who worked on a horse farm for years. For those who know what i'm talking about. Freakin idiot is mellooooooow. I think i do very well with my words in front of the kids.
PS. The worst thing i ever heard was from a family member. A cousin of mine was invited to my brothers, daughters birthday party. She brought her little boy (i think he was 5 at the time), who has mega ADHD. Well my brother had alligator Erinn brought in (wild animal show) and all was going well. Until, the snake was brought to the front. All the kids were told to sit in a circle and he would let them pet the snake. Her son was terrified. He did not want to pet the snake. She looked at him and in front of all our friends and family said " you F@ckin P^ssy. OMG!!! Later that day her son told her to shut the f@ck up. Needless to say she was never invited back.
This is also a girl who at her brothers wedding, farted and picked her but in front of guests, with a dress on!!! She told me, I don't give a F@ck what they think. I said obviously. So that goes to show you can learn it anywhere. She is my fathers, brothers daughter. We were raised the same.

Because people have no idea how to bring up children anymore. No wonder we live in a culture where children act like they know it all, they hear it all through their parents. My mum was terrible for using fcuk a lot and I grew up thinking this was ok to use in a normal conversation. I have grown out of it and rarely use the word now, thankfully! Although, I will do my upmost to make sure my children do not hear swearing on a daily basis.

I absolutely hate to hear swearing in front of children . I am a parent and very rarely swear in front of my child . I am not perfect and the odd word does slip out especially when angry .It is never directed at my child .
However that is not the normal in my house to hear it . I can count on my hand the times I have swore within hear shot of my child in all of her 12 years.
I am so shocked when I hear parents calling their children little f@cks and similar .How can any parent speak to their child in that manner.

Yes, it is hard to curb your tongue sometimes, especially if you're in the habit of doing it. I curse in front of my 16-year-old son and he has also picked up the habit. I guess I'd rather him curse a few times a day than smoke, drink or get into drugs.

I try my hardest not to swear in front of my 15 month old, especially as he will soon be picking up words. My husband finds it difficult as he is a builder and the language on site is very blue, but he is quite good now!
