I am totally guilty of this. I have three and I did take more pictures of my first than I did the other three. It's mainly because with the first one you have all the time in the world to take the pictures (no others to look after). Once more come along, there's just not enough hours in the day to continue doing this.
I feel really bad the two youngest don't have as many baby pictures as the oldest one has - but that's just the way it is.

I'm not sure why...but I know that my older brother has albums full of baby pictures, and in my whole childhood I only had 3 pictures taken, other than school pics. I have one daughter now, and I take TONS of pictures. I know that when I have a second child I am going to take tons more, because I know how it felt when I saw all my brother's pictures and Ididn't have but 3. So, I'm not sure why this is so, but it should stop. Mother's should take plenty of pictures of all of thier children.

Oddly enough, I personally have taken more pictures of my second child as I have been at home with him for more of his life. I was a working single mom up until 2 years ago. However, there are more pictures in existence of my first child simply because she was the first (child, niece, granddaughter) and she's older. In fact, I think my mom has more pictures of her than my sisters and me combined.

Actually I have more pics of the youngest one. A study was done and it said that the youngest child usually had more pics while middle children had hardly any. It's really weird. My youngest child is the only one still left at home and has been from almost birth so that may be why.

Mainly because they just have the one child and when the second comes along they are so busy with 2 children that the camara is the last thing on their minds. It doesnt mean that they dont wont more pictures.

Because we are awful parents - no, j/k. But, I totally did this - my son had pix like almost everyday (literally) and prof pix about once a month - now, with my daughter, I don't even think I have a pic from every month of her fist year to put in a frame I have. You get busy with life and forget - it's not that you love them any less.

babysisterchrissy is right on the money there! You just don't have the same amount of time. By the time the 2nd or 3rd comes along the newness has worn off.
