So my mom STiLL threatens to spank me. i think im old enough to not have to think of that. but sometimes she will say if u dont shut up or behave i will pull down your pants infront of everyone in the store(when were in public) and one time she did! it was so embarassing so we were in the store and i was telling her i wanted to leave so then she says, not till im done! and i said noo i just want to go and i got so mad i kept yelling then she took me to the nearest chair, pulled down my pants and my underwear and spanked me and everyone was staring and some girl was laughing it was sooo embarassing. i think i deserved it though. what do you think? then one time when my friend haley came over she spanked me in front of her with no underwear on! she says im going to spank u the next time u misbehave even if i have to do it infront of all your friends! she usually does it in fron t of people she says to my grandma that it teaches me to behave. so wat do u all think?

Ok, I am thoroughly in favor of spanking, but I do NOT agree with pulling the pants and underware down. Second, how old are you? I think spanking should stop when the child is about 10 to 12 years old.

I believe a child should be spanked only when you want to teach him that his behavior is dangerous, and may harm himself, or others. Such as crossing the street by himself until he is old enough to. Playing with matches, or fire. Hurting his infant sibling, or any infant.
Even then a child first must be taught by explaining to him why it is so dangerous, and what the consequences will be if he does misbehave. ie, he can get hit by a car if he crosses on his own, if he playes with matches he can start a fire. If he hurts the infant, it might cause the infant extreme reprecussions to the point that the infant will have to be hospitilized. I am sure you get the idea now. The same goes with any weapons.
Only after explaining the possibilities of his actions by misbehaving should you spank the child.
Otherwise, a punishment is sufficient to educate your child right from wrong. The punishment should fit the misbehavior, depending on how serious the misbehavior is.
Your mother is 100% wrong.
Consistency is the key to success to raise a well behaved child, who when an adult you will be proud of.

She needs some counseling, and you probably will too!
I am not against giving a child a swat on the rear, but not the way your mother is doing it, in public, with your pants down, showing your bare bottom. NO WAY!
Sorry you have to go thru this kind of humiliation and punishment. Wish I could help you more.

Spanking is effective up to the age of about 7/8. After that another punishment needs to be used otherwise its just plain voilence on the parents behalf.

Spanking itself is neither good nor always bad (depends on how it's used). My first question would be how old are you? After a certain age, varies in different places, it is illegal to strike your child. Secondly, l'm not trying to undermine your Mom, but pulling down your pants in public and therefore exposing you is NEVER ok. I would actually suggest that even privately this is innappropriate. lf you feel your Mom would listen, try explaining to her that you respect her need to discipline you, and if she chooses to spank that is what she does, but you are very uncomfortable with the way she pulls down your pants. Also, try responding to your Mom when she asks you to do something, it sounds as if she gets really angry and that is why she spanks. If you are over say 10 years of age, and she still continues with this, seek advice from a relative or teacher, or someone else you can trust, but try talking to your Mom first. Good Luck, take care.

honey, i,m sorry but it sounds like your mom is abusing you, spanking you is one thing but she has absolutely no right pulling your pants down and in public thats bad please tell a teacher or an adult you know, what is going on! sounds like she might start molesting you because evendently she gets a thrill out of spanking your bare bottom and that is not normal!

A good *** whipping never hurt any one...
I remember back in the day you could be taken out the the back and get your *** whipped with a paddle and it wouldn't be "child abuse." and those people turned out to be great additions to society.
Of course pulling down your pants in front of people and spanking you is going overboard.

she's abusing you. she shouldn't be doing it, especially pulling down your pants. tell a teacher or someone about this, and don't listen to the idiots on here who tell you it's right, they would only do that (pull down pants and all) if they are sick or on a power trip.
