My seventeen year old daughter's good friend died last week. She was in a car accident and it all came as a huge shock and my daughter has been beside herself. She refuses to come out of her room, i hear her crying all night. She won't talk much....she says she's too depressed to even talk to me. She won't eat. I am very worried, I know that she is grieving, but is the much grief normal? Please help.

My girl friend of 1 year is pregnet with someone else's child... we have been going out on and off for almost 8 years.. and she is my best friend.. we happened to break up for about a month and she ended up getting pregnet on a one time deal... she was completely sorry about it and we ended up getting back together.. now she is four months pregnet and the guy that got her pregnet is blowing her off. I've always said i would help her out and be there for her... the other day she asked me if i was willing to be the father of the child.. even thou i wasnt... I been fighting with my parents and friends on this.. they all believe i shouldnt do it.. but i feel i should.. because i love her with all my heart... soo answer me this is it right for me to become the dad of a child that isnt mine.. and get involved in this situation? or back off and tell her it's best to just be friends and the real dad should be there?

I was just wondering this as a second thought to my other post here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ajwd_YxW33UzJszIx7nyaWTsy6IX?qid=20070227034242AANaoIj

A child is imbued with an endless love for their parents. I think it doesn't end for them until maybe they are adult? But some adults it nbever ends. Like, when I read a magazine article about how much a daughter (usually a daughter) loves her mom and can't believe she died, etc. even though the mom wasn't nice or perfect.

Well it seems to me if a parent can love a child unconditionally and at the same time not like the child or how the child ends up being, then that is not the kind of love the child has for the parent. In fact, that is a love of choice. Maybe thats why a lot of parents leave their children or worse?

I was wondering why nature sought to create this imbalance? It made the child needy with an endless illogical love. And it made the parent with a choice. I am not a parent... (more)

I don't argee, I am sure a lot of people don't. She make $85,000.00 a year and she has custody of my husbands son. He is 12, he is about 75 lbs over wieght, eats and drinks whatever and whenever he wants - we are talking about acohol too. She smokes pot and let's other people do it in her home to, right in front of him. I think he shouldn't be exposed to this stuff and that he should have guide lines on what and when he eats - come on what 12 year old boy isn't going to eat lots of junk food all the time? He has no bed time either. This is a very sore subject in our house because I think that his father should do something, and since he won't how do I help this kid without looking like the evil step mother or the new jealous wife? That is how I feel, that he need's help, thatis all, he is just a kid......help?

I'm the mother of 4, but my oldest who is 12, recently taught his little 4 year old brother the middle finger. Now, he won't stop flipping people off. Not only do I punish him, but I also took away my 12 year olds ipod (which he loves) as a punishment for teaching his brother. I think this is a good punishment, but does anyone else have any tips? Because little Christopher won't stop flashing the finger and I'm sick and tired of telling him to stop

My little brother is 15 years old and he became a problem child at age 11. My mom has tried to reach out to the judicial system to get help with him but nobody will help her. Im afraid that after awhile she is going to give up on him and let him go into the streets. She is a single mother and I understand where she is coming from because there is only so much a mother can do. HE wont go to school, he smokes, and got a really bad negative attitude. I have tried numerous times to talk to him and gives him guidance but he snaps at me until it causes a fight and causes my mother more stress that causes her weight to drop. I tried to help her and find him a boot camp but it costs and im tryna do something about it before it gets too late. We tried mentors, psychiatrist, doctors and even the police but he still wont act right. ANy suggestions, boot camps, guidance or anything that will help?

Why do some stay at home mothers loudly and as often-as-possible knock families that have two working parents and have their children in daycare during the day? I know that some at home mothers believe that some people see them as being lazy...and I don't think that is right at all either. It just seems like there are many questions on here from stay at home moms asking working parents how they could possibly put their kids in daycare. I see fewer questions on here from working parents reflecting the other negative stereotype that about at home mothers that I mentioned before.

Hey, if you are financially secure with your situation and can stay home...I think that is great. Some parents don't have a secure financial situation and need to plan for retirement and the kid's college. We don't have it all.

Kids are going to need to go to school at some point...age 6 months or age 5 years. What is wrong with starting the education process earlier?
