My attorney sent over the papers to relinquish my parental rights to my son. How long will it take for child suport to stop coming out of my check?

I don't think this is a serious issue but would like to know how to help my son with his fears. He is 8 and seems to be overly fearful about certain things. He doesn't like to go upstairs by himself. Sometimes he doesn't want to go into the kitchen by himself. He doesn't like going into the garage by himself. When he goes to sleep he cover his head with the blanket even though I tell him not to. Of course I make him do certain things like go to the kitchen by himself. What can I do to help him be less fearful? I'm sure he will outgrow this stuff just don't know when.

Seems like many "couples" i'm not talking about "single" parents here, are putting their kids in day care and letting other people ussually total starngers, raise them through the formative years. These people could get by on one income if they did with a little less. Why do people have kids if they dont want to raise them themselves????

I am a single mom, my child's dad is in jail. I tried to collect child support, but the Child Support Enforcement Agency personnel told me that I could apply for it, but that the application wouldn't go anywhere because he is in jail. What should I do? I am in need of the funds, otherwise I wouldn't bother. Any suggestions?

In the last week, my kids STOPPED napping. And it gets worse. My daughter is crying about everything ~ not crying but whining attention kind of crying ~ she is 21mo old. My son is 3yrs old. They don't get along and I have to seperate them most of the time, and she REFUSES to nap ~ or go to bed! My husband thought by letting her tire herself out it would eventually work, but it DOESN'T ~ of course he stays up all night and sleeps all day and I'm stuck alone with them non-stop. I can't get ANYTHING done ~ and I already hear them in there playing instead of napping. They were so good up until a week ago! Please help!
I've tried quiet time, I've tried scheduling (keeping SAME schedule I've had for months) or w/e ~ I don't get it!!!
I'm about ready to put her back into her crib instead of the toddler bed until this blows over!

My youngest daughter believes she is in love with my nephew,I feel that I should keep out of this, however i've always been open with my girls, and when my eldest developed a crush on the same cousin (they were the same age) she came to me to ask what she should do,as I suspected she grew out of it.My youngest is very quiet she won't speak out about this and this "crush" has developed for the last 8 years, she's at an age now where she should be socialising more and i'm worried that her actions towards my nephew are less than innocent, not that I believe he would ever take advantage of her he's a perfect gentleman. He saved my eldest from a gang attack, and defended,my youngest in a similar way, which is where I believe both crushes came from. And I believe I need to talk with her about it especially as it's keeping her from finding someone else, however I don't know how to approach the subject (if I should) or what advice to give her?

Ok.Here's my story. I'm a 28yr guy, my wife is 32 , we got married a few yrs ago. When we first started dating (i was 22) I kinda told her that I don't want children at the time (if ever) and at first that almost broke us up. After a while she came back to me saying that it was all because she's indian and there's great pressure in indian families to have lotsa kids. I'm not indian, I'm white and I just never had any urge to "procreate", to leave something behind etc. etc., I just feel this world is to upside down to bring another in it, at the most I'd probly want to adopt, although right now my wife and I are on the same position. Besides this, we had to move outside both of our countries, started a whole new life, it's a real struglle so I see that as more of a reason not to think of children. Why do people ostracize me and give me the bad-look if I say I don't want children of my own? Why is it perceived as such a bad thing, and I'm the "monster" that doesn't want kids?

My husband and I are currently taking foster parenting classes in hopes of fostering children in our home. We already have a 2 year old daughter of our own. We want to share the love we have to help others who may not have an opportunity to grow up in a loving healthy home. How does fostering affect your relationship with your biological children? How does growing up in a home with foster kids affect your childhood both as the biological child and as the foster child?

Seriously with all the divorce and child support in which men are seen as nothing more than sperm donors in the family courts yet men keep having more kids willing. Are they just oblivious to the horror stories of good men who simply lost their jobs through no fault on their own, can't keep up with the payments, and get thrown in jail like murders....LIKE A FREAKING MURDER!!!!??? I know common sense in America is next to none!! Hell, less than 27% of Americans past 25 have a college degree (one of the lowest % in the industrialized world). We are truely a society of idiots whether it be with our bodies or inanimate objects. I mean America is no longer an agriaran society so why bother if you don't need a kid to survive?

Why do men keep having children with no regard for themselves?

I am a 35 year old mom and my 16 year old son is a 10th grader. He had his winter sports program from his high school sitting on the desk in his bedroom. I was looking at it since he is a wrestler and wanted to see his picture. When I turned the page, it was stuck together. I then finally ripped the pages after trying and it was a picture of the schools cheerleaders. Now, my son walked in and saw me and then ran away from embarrassment. He hasnt said a word in 2 days. Do you think he did something wrong? I never assumed the pages were stuck for a reason. I dont believe my son would do that. How do I approach it?

I have taken some early childhood education clasees, but don't have a degree. I have lots of experience with kids, though, and am looking for a way to supplement my income. What's a good way to word a flyer so that people will call? As a parent, what would you look for in a babysitter, and what would catch your eye on a flyer?
